Mollaka Danso is a minor antagonist of the 2006 James Bond film Casino Royale. He is a freelance bomb maker who was in league with Le Chiffre of Quantum.
He was portrayed by Sébastian Foucan.
History
Mollaka was hired by Le Chiffre to sabotage an aerospace company called Skyfleet by destroying its S570 prototype. He was first seen during a mongoose/snake fight in Madagascar, unaware that he is being watched by two MI6 agents named James Bond and Carter. However, Mollaka spots Carter and realizes that he's been caught, so he flees away from the scene.
Known for his vast skill in parkour, Mollaka was able to make his way throughout a construction site, killing a few construction workers as he makes it to the Nambutu Embassy, where Bond finally captures him. However, the embassy chief gets his guards to hold Bond at gunpoint, demanding him to let Mollaka go. Bond briefly obliges, but then instantly shoots Mollaka and a nearby gas cylinder, causing an explosion that allows Bond to escape with Mollaka's backpack and phone.
Due to Mollaka's death, Le Chiffre turned to hire Carlos Nikolic for the job, though this failed as Carlos ends up being killed by Bond.
Bond eventually learned that Quantum was nothing more than a front run by Ernst Stavro Blofeld of SPECTRE, and that Mollaka, along with Le Chiffre and Carlos, were all pawns as part of Blofeld's true plot to wreak psychological pain on Bond.
Trivia
- Sébastian Foucan (the man who portrays Mollaka) is one of the founding partners of parkour, which would explain how Mollaka is skilled in parkour.
