| ~ Monocle Boss before charging towards Red Ball |
Monocle Boss is the secondary antagonist (alongside Samurai Boss)in the 1-3 epizode Red Ball 4 , serving as the main antagonist of Red Ball 4: Episode 1 and a posthumous of Red Ball 4: Episode 4. It is the ruler of Green Hills and the first Boss player will encounter.
Appearance[]
Monocle Boss is extremely similar to a square, however it is a bit larger than them and wears monocle glasses, it color of the eyes changes when spotting an enemy to red and switch back to yellow when tired/vulnerable or defeated.
Biography[]
History[]
Monocle Boss (along with it's underlings) attacked green hills and quickly conquered. Not much changes were made. a few obstacles were built and many squares (and Ram ones) guarded, for traps, they were much simple as both have falling from high distance and/or falling into river and drowning.
Episode 1[]
After the player reaches the end of Level 14, they'll be facing a sign with the fair worn of the upcoming danger that reads "Boss".
During Level 15, Red Ball will face Monocle Boss where their battle starts.
Boss Fight[]
For a few seconds at the start of the level, the boss will remain on the right side of the screen, with the player at the left. Then, it'll charge at the player, when it reaches the other side of the screen or successfully deals damage to the player, it'll become vulnerable state where the Player can deal damage back. if it hits the player during a charge, it'll reverse direction and pant again, this process continues until Red Ball puts half of it health down.
After half of it health is down, it'll go to one side of the screen and command squares to attack, then a regular square will fall from the sky in the middle of the screen, landing on the ground before walking back and forth. When the box is defeated, it'll charge to the other side and call again, but does not get tired. it'll summon 2 boxes, which will patrol back and forth, reversing direction when they hit each other. When these are defeated it'll repeat the same attack, but this time summoning 2 Ram boxes. When these are defeated it'll became hostile again.
Monocle Boss aggressively pursuing the Red Ball.
The boss will unstoppably jump while pursuing Red Ball, it will also switch directions if tricked, however after some time of chase it stops and becomes tired/vulnerable, allowing the player to take out the rest of it health, but the more close to being defeated, the more will chase the player and increase difficulty. After all remaining hearts are taken out, the level ends.
Fate[]
The game continues to a cutscene which has Red Ball watch Monocle Boss painfully turn red and shapeshift and ends up exploding, meeting it demise. The Red Ball celebrates by happily jumping but the game reveals that behind the bush, there are three hidden black eggs, ready to hatch.
Episode 4[]
The Boss of the Episode 4 shares the same size and similar behavior to Monocle Boss, even repeating some of it manners, allowing audience to remember the dead first boss they had to face.
Trivia[]
- In the desktop version, the Monocle Boss' glass shines. This does not happen in the mobile port.
