Rest easy, Buredoran of the Comet You said we just had enough power to destroy the Heaven Tower, didn't you? Then, all that remains is to drain this worthless planet of all life upon it.
~ Mons Drake's first words when being told by Brajira that he should remain on his guard since it had caused problems for other villains in the past.

Dereputa... Targate... The best and brightest of our glorious Warstar army... all lost to those ridiculous Gosei Angels.
~ Mons Drake after he evolved into his ultimate form.

Pathetic Earthlings! Hear my words! I am Mons Drake of the Planet, the High Commander of the Universal Annihilation Army Warstar! You have twenty four hours remaining... before I eradicate all life on this planet.
~ Mons Drake's message to the people of Earth.

The Guardian Angels? What do you riffraff want with me? I plan to eradicate all life on this planet.
~ Mons Drake when confronted by the Goseigers.

Buredoran! Proceed with the plan! Soon, the Earth will meet it's end!
~ Mons Drake when he enlarged.

I am Mons Drake of the Planet! I AM Warstar! How could I fall... to creatures like these?!
~ Mons Drake's final words before his death.

Great King Mons Drake of the Planet (大王惑星のモンス・ドレイク Daiō Wakusei no Monsu Doreiku) was a luna moth-themed Monsian who was the leader of the Universal Annihilation Army Warstar and the main antagonist of the first arc of Tensou Sentai Goseiger. He served as the overarching antagonist of the first 14 episodes before becoming the main antagonist of the 15th.

He was voiced by the late Shouzou Iizuka, who had previously voiced Führer Hell Saturn from Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan.

Biography[]

Past[]

During the invasion of another planet, Mons Drake saw Dereputa's fighting skills and was impressed. Confronting him, he offers to make him his right hand man, which Dereputa gladly accepts and has been loyal to him ever since to the point that he aids him every time that Mons Drake uses the Gravity Fall ritual.

Goseiger[]

Having conquered various worlds, Mons Drake turns his attention to Earth but Mons Drake learns of the Gosei Angels from his new follower Buredorun and sends Dereputa to destroy the Heaven's Tower in a preemptive strike to render the planet defenseless. However, five Gosei Angels in training were on Earth at the time and halt Warstar's invasion as the Goseigers. Mons Drake creates and tries multiple plans and attacks on Earth in an attempt to destroy the Goseigers and conquer the Earth. Eventually, after 11 onslaughts end in a failure, he grows tired of the Goseigers' interference (with the last one resulting in the death of his top soldiers Yokubabanger of the Electric Shock), Mons Drake personally attacks the Earth and performs the Gravity Fall to make the Moon collide with Earth. However, it is stopped by the Goseigers. After that failure, Mons Drake sends Dereputa to kill the Goseigers to avenge the failure of their plan but the Rangers manage to defeat Dereputa.

Following the supposed death of Dereputa, Mons Drake orders Buredoran to use Powereddark of the Mutation to avenge him. When that fails, he summons another one of his top soldiers, Targate of the Satellite to eliminate the Goseigers so he could replace Dereputa. But even Targate fell to them. Outraged with the deaths of Dereputa and Targate, Mons Drake uses his energy to assume his ultimate form. He then plans to transfer Earth's oxygen into the Indevader and have Buredoran crash into the Earth to incinerate all live on Earth. However, after a fierce and lengthy battle, he grows giant and overwhelms Gosei Great but is instead blasted into the Indevader by Hyper Gosei Great and consumed in the resulting explosion, killing him. Despite his death, Warstar is still at large and he is later succeeded as leader by Gyōten'ō of the Supernova a while later but even he eventually fails due to the powers of Gosei Wonder.

Mons Drake's spirit later appears to Brajira, futilely trying to attack him before being cast away. It seems that Mons Drake found out of his ulterior motives even though he never found out when he was still alive.

Gokaiger[]

Mons Drake is mysteriously revived in the Makuu Prison as a prisoner where he is sent to capture the Gokaigers. He ambushes Captain Marvelous and Ahim as the Skick Goseigers when they try and break in. He shoots them with a blast from his axe but Marvelous sees a door behind him so Ahim covers him with a windrush card. After saving Gavan, he is ultimately destroyed by the GokaiGalleon Buster's Special Charge when it rips into him from underground.

Kamen Rider × Super Sentai: Super Hero Taisen[]

Mons Drake is revived as a member of the Dai-Zangyack faction but is only seen when Marvelous orders the Gokaigers to hunt down Kamen Rider OOO, Birth, and ProtoType with Dereputa, Brajira, Brajira's clones, and the Dark Headers. He is last spotted with Dereputa and Nanoma-Gatari trying to chase Hina-chan until Daiki Kaito shows up and blasts them. Great King Mons Drake and the other Goseiger villains are not seen again but they are presumed deceased.

Personality[]

Mons Drake was an alien who is merciless and remorseless in destroying planets. While his Gravity Fall ceremony was his favorite way of destroying planets, he preferred to send a Universal Insect Monster to do it in it's own twisted way. Despite being a warmonger, he was usually calm and patient as it took 10 initial onslaughts before he grew tired of the failures. He at least respected those that are close to them like Dereputa as his supposed death devastated him to the point where he became more abusive and unhinged, striking at Buredoran for any reason. When Targate was killed, Mons Drake completely lost his sanity and soon revealed his secret form to Buredoran before finding a plan to end the interference of the Goseigers forever. He didn't mind when Universal Insect Monsters act on their own without consulting him as shown with Fandaho of Nonsense and Kurasuniigo of 5000°C as long as they acted for the Warstar cause.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Power: Mons Drake possessed extraordinary power, which made him the most powerful warrior of the Warstar and the most powerful enemy of the Goseigers during the first arc of the season. He was stronger than Dereputa and the Universal Monsters but weaker than Makuin, Kingoon, Robogog and Brajira.
  • Strength: Lord Drake possessed extraordinary strength, able to fight and take down all five Goseigers with a single hit each. When giant, single slashes from his axe severely shook up Gosei Great.
    • Shockwave Punches: Drake could create visible shockwaves with red specks inside of them from his hands to punch with enough force.
  • Durability: Drake was struck by four of the Gosei Weapons and their energy slashes but barely stumbled back and when giant, all of the Mecha heads ripped through him but he lived. It took the combined firepower of every single Gosei Weapon and the Skick Sword's Red Break just to knock him down to one knee.
    • Shockwave: If hit by an enemy, Mons could release an intense shock-wave around himself from his armor that excels in both offense and defense.
  • Planet Bullet: Drake's signature attack where he summoned a series of energy planets around him to bombard his enemies in an attack strong enough to take down all five Goseigers.
  • Fireballs: Mons Drake could launch fireballs from his hands.
  • Power Redirection: Drake was able to take hold of a water attack with his hand and throw it back at his foe.
  • Energy Redirection: Mons Drake could capture energy attacks his hands, make them stronger, and throw them back.
  • Lightning Beams: Drake could fire light orange colored lightning beams from his hands.
  • Strategic Genius: Mons Drake was very intelligent and easily understood and/or corrected complex plans devised by his comrades and was also adept to come up with his own schemes.
  • Meteor Shower: Mons Drake could launch multiple meteors in the air and have them strike down his enemies.
  • Fireball Meteors: Drake could launch a fireball into the air and have many fireballs rain down from the sky like meteors.
  • Planet Strike: Drake could create miniature-sized, energy-based planets and fire them directly at his enemies that were powerful enough to push the Goseigers off the building.
  • Kinetic Vision: Mons Drake could fire massive red kinetic energy blasts from his eyes.
  • Cosmic Wing Stream: Drake could fire powerful yellow and light pink cosmic multi-laser attacks from his wings that was capable of vaporizing the Goseigers' Headders.
  • Cocoon Metamorphosis: Drake could enter a metamorphosis-like state to maximize his power.
  • Mind Oblivion: Mons Drake could disintegrate objects by strongly focusing and then releasing his energy upon them. Said objects could be anything from buildings to a communal train.
  • Screen Blast: King Mons could enter a sky while breaking a force to communicate with the people of Earth.
  • Bibi Bugs Summoning: Like Buredoran, Drake could summon Bibi Bugs at will.
  • Enlarging: Mons Drake could enlarge himself by eating a Bibi Bug.
  • Hand-to-Hand Combat: Drake was skilled in hand-to-hand combat, being able to dodge all five of the Goseigers' strikes with ease and subdue them.
  • Axe Proficiency: Lord Drake was very proficient in using his axe for battle.
  • Monster Summoning: Drake was able to summon monsters by calling out their name.
  • Extraordinary Leaper: Drake could leap incredible distances.
  • Gravity Fall: Drake's most powerful attack where he used the dark matter in his body to cause a nearby satellite to slam into the nearest planet. This could instantly destroy planets but it was very draining so he never really used it.

Arsenal[]

  • Drake's Axe: Drake wielded an axe of his likeness that excelled in both offense and defense during battle.
    • Energy Waves: Drake could project orange-yellow energy waves from his axe.
    • Energy Rings: Lord of the Warstar could project massive orange energy rings from his axe.
      • Lightning Effect: The energy rings from Lord Drake's axe could damage opponents with light blue colored lightning.
    • Shield: Drake could use it as a shield to protect himself from energy attacks which s powerful enough to block the Goseigers' Dynamic Victory Charge.
    • Energy Empowerment: Mons could charge up his axe with yellow or light orange energy and swing it at full force. This took down four Goseigers since Alata resisted it.
    • Deflection: Mons Drake deflected the Goseigers' Dynamic Victory Charge attack with a single swipe of his axe.
    • Shockwave Slashes: Lord Mons Drake was able to release white shockwave-like slashes from his axe.
    • Lightning Blasts: As seen during the fight in the Makuu Prison, Mons Drake could fire powerful golden lightning from his Drake Tomahawk. This caused a large explosion and took down Marvelous and Ahim with one hit.
  • Fists-Even without his axe, Drake was able to defeat all five Rangers with his bare hands.
