Monspeet the Reticence, often shortened to Monspeet, is a major antagonist of the manga/anime series The Seven Deadly Sins. He is an elite warrior who serves as one of the Ten Commandments.
In the anime he was voiced by Kenjirō Tsuda in Japanese, and Keith Silverstein in the english dub.
Monspeet is best described as a gentleman of sorts who hates rudeness and ill-mannered people. He isn't one for immediate violence and would rather the enemy to surrender instead of having to engage in combat. Despite this, he is willing to fight Meliodas head-on, and will also enter the fray if Derieri is in any danger. Other than this however, Monspeet is often rather quiet and analytical, usually seen making comments to himself.
Monspeet acts as an attendant for Derieri, often translating her crude phrases and staying by her side. It is later revealed that he has concealed feelings for her but is unable to confess them due to his commandment. He showed a slight preference for Derieri wearing cute outfits, this feeling isn't mutual.
After having his life spared by Elizabeth and Meliodas, Monspeet chooses to live with Derieri in a human village and does not respond to Zeldris' call. He also shows to become accustomed to humans, as he and Derieri befriend a girl who saved their lives.
- His Commandment of Reticence appears to be based on the commandment "Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain", which dictates no blasphemy.
