"Ever since the beginning of time, Monsters dwell among us, unthwarted, Unchallenged, Killing at will".

The monsters are the primary antagonist in The Legends of Van Helsing (webtoon), The monsters are highly diverse, requiring hunters to be knowledgeable about the many different types in order to hunt them effectively. However, most hunters lack a complete understanding, as the sheer number of monsters makes it nearly impossible to know them all. While they are said to serve the devil, they seem to act in their own self-interest, pursuing their desires and killing anyone who has wronged them or anyone they choose. Perhaps this indulgence in their own desires is, in fact, a form of serving the devil, the deceiver whose ultimate goal is to punish mankind.
