Well… not bad for an indian.
~ Moreno's provocation against Bill and Kiowa.

Moreno is the secondary antagonist in the 1968 spaghetti western film Today We Kill... Tomorrow We Die. He was the second of the Comancheros, Elfego's most important, loyal criminal man.

He was portrayed by the late Jeff Cameron.

Biography[]

Moreno was Elfego's most important accomplice alongside Klaus. The three men committed robberies and murders. They went to Bill's house where the man was confused, but James reassured him that they were just his friends. Then Moreno began to provoke Bill, who wanted to hit him, but James was standing between them. But Elfego also showed his true face. Klaus and another bandit hold down Bill, Elfego raped the woman, and Moreno enjoyed watching her suffer. Bill was then knocked down by Klaus and they the stolen money was left in his house. The man was taken to jail. The criminals joined the Comancheros. Later, Elfego became their leader and Moreno became the right hand and secondary leader. They had been looted and murdered for years, no one dared to stop them.

Years later, Bill was released from prison who wanted revenge on the three criminals. Gather famous gunslingers to reach his goal. Meanwhile, the Comancheros are robbing a military horse-drawn chariot. Moreno climbed onto the chariot and killed the charioteer and the soldiers, and Elfego killed two fleeing soldiers. A lot of money was taken from the chariot. Elfego and Moreno returned with their gang to their hiding place, but their spies informed them that they had seen two unknown riders. When the spies told them what they looked like Elfego and Moreno knew that one of them was Bill Kiowa. Elfego sent Klaus and some of his men to find out that Bill was one of the riders. In Madigan Post, they met the two riders who had massively beat Klaus and his men. One was indeed Bill and the other was his friend O'Bannion. They were captured and tortured. At night, Elfego explained his plan to Moreno and another comanchero bandit. Robbing a military convoy and stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars. He ordered his two followers not to capture anyone, kill all the soldiers. Moreno nodded without a word. They set off in the morning and returned to the Madigan Post pub a few hours later. They found Claus and Tiger dead and some of their people. Moreno examined the bodies and said they were dead for hours because they were completely cold.

Elfego and Moreno set off with the gang to kill Bill and his companions. Hunting started in a forest. Moreno stayed with Elfego until night. He realized that the enemy knew their tricks. He set off alone to find the hiding enemy. Bill's man Francis "Colt" Moran threw a knife at Moreno, but he dodged it. The knife stuck in a tree, the two men began to fight. Francis pulled his weapon, but Moreno hit him and fell to the ground. The bandit jumped on him but Francis held the knife to him and stabbed Moreno with the weapon. Bill remarked to his friend that he wanted to kill Moreno himself. After his death, Elfego and the other comancheros also died.

Personality[]

Moreno's sadistic look

Moreno's sadistic look while Elfego rapes Bill's wife.

Moreno was a calm, quiet and loyal follower of Elfego, but he was just as sadistic and cruel as his leader. He never questioned Elfego's orders, he always listened and performed to them. He did not speak unnecessarily, but spoke only when he could give useful advice or an idea. However, he was just as sadistic and cruel as Elfego. He watched with delight and smile as Elfego raped Bill's wife. Moreno, too, was hostile and racist toward the indians, and regarded them as inferior.
