Fine, Kez. Let's all live together, exactly like before.
~ Morgan
If you're going to leave me like Jeremy did, don't make me have to wait for it!
~ Morgan

Morgan is the main antagonist of Book Four - Duet of Infinity Train. She is a sentient castle and a resident of the Mega Maze Car on the Infinity Train. Her wrong-doings are motivated by her grief for a passenger that she lost named Jeremy Bradford.

She was voiced by Margaret Cho, who also portrayed Evelyn Lee in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Characteristics[]

Morgan is a living castle that resides onto of a hill surrounded by a maze. She communicates through a disembodied voice.

While Morgan is living, her anatomy behaves more like a spirit possessing an object rather than a living thing. She has the ability to move everything inside of herself, even if it is not connected to a surface such as suits of knights' armor). She has the ability to create things inside of herself, such as food and clothes. She can make objects fly around inside of herself, as seen in the scene where she tried to intimidate Min-Gi into leaving.

Morgan is able to communicate whether she is awake or asleep through turning off the flames that illuminate her inside.

Appearance[]

Morgan appears to be a giant castle on top of a green hill. She is more modernly stylized, but still has some medieval features. Her outer self consists of yellow walls and red pointed roofing. Her interior is standard to that of a castle of the medieval era.

Personality[]

Morgan was implied to have been a welcoming spirit who would allow passengers to reside within her. The strongest bond that she was able to form was with a passenger named Jeremy Bradford, who befriended her rather than used her. They were said to talk for hours on end. After he was taken away from her, she fell into a state of great sadness.

Morgan's former personality completely changed after the two main characters of the fourth season, Ryan and Min-Gi tried to reside inside of her. Her "roommate" Kez, a sentient bell, had brought them to her in hopes that they could replace Jeremy. This was much to Morgan's disliking, and so she treated them horribly. She used them as an outlet to project her anger onto, even going so far as to try and have them killed when they weren't leaving fast enough.

Morgan's state of grief somewhat shifted after Kez finally apologized to her. She told Kez that she needed to be alone, but she would like to talk to her later.

Biography[]

Past[]

It is unknown when Morgan or her car was created, but it was implied that she has been housing passengers ever since her creation. One day, a passenger named Jeremy Bradford boarded her car and resided within her. The two of them formed a close friendship, talking for hours on end. Morgan would gift him with food and clothes in exchange for his kindness. One day, Kez accidentally said something that activated Jeremy's door. She tried to call for Morgan, but it was too late. The loss of Jeremy caused Morgan to become bitter and depressed, reminiscent of her lost friend.

Infinity Train[]

Morgan is first mentioned by Kez to have been Morgan's roommate. When she was first shown she was believed to have been the location of the roommate, and not the roommate themselves.

After Kez brought Ryan and Min-Gi to the castle, she revealed who Morgan really was. Morgan was immediately thrown into a rage after Kez implied that Ryan and Min-Gi could make for replacements, and began tormenting them. She sent them up into Jeremy's old room where she threw his old stuff at them. They remained there until she fell asleep, after which they snuck out and Kez revealed Jeremy's backstory. After this, a Steward appeared (due to Amelia) and caused her to wake up. She was not too affected by the small amount of destruction that Steward had caused in his interaction with Ryan and Min-Gi.

The next day, Morgan's attitude had improved but she was still passive aggressive. She would fulfill requests for them such as fetching things and making food. She remarked at how Ryan probably wouldn't eat due to the events of last night, implying that she had probably picked up on the situation. Later on, after she had failed asleep, Ryan and Min-Gi talked with each other and began to resolve their conflicts. They began to play music together, which woke Morgan up. They denied her request to stop making noise, and after a few minutes of playing, Min-Gi's door opened. Morgan became increasingly upset, wanting Min-Gi to go through the door as soon as possible, even if it meant without Ryan. She began throwing things around the room, almost killing Min-Gi, but eventually Ryan convinced her that even though she's mad she doesn't want to hurt them. She told him that even if she didn't, she knew some people that did, and then opened her gate to a group of residence that Kez, Ryan and Min-Gi had upset while on their journey.

She allowed them to come in and cause destruction to her insides, which she remarked at being fine with if it meant that they would kill the duo. When they reached the protagonists, Kez stopped everyone and apologized for everything that had happened. Everyone began to forgive them, except for Judge Morpho, but she was hit out of the house by Ryan and presumably perished after attempting to lung at Kez. After they all left, Kez apologized to Morgan. Morgan told Kez that the apology didn't make her feel better, and that she wanted Ryan and Min-Gi to leave. She said she needed some alone time, but would like to talk to Kez later, implying that she was beginning to open herself up to the idea of forgiveness.

Trivia[]

  • Even though she doesn't appear until the final episodes, Morgan is still technically the main antagonist of the season mainly due to being the reason Kez was taking Min-Gi and Ryan to her.
  • Morgan first appeared in a photo with Kez and Jeremy. Min-Gi, Ryan, and viewers initially believed that Jeremy was Morgan, which is a gender-neutral name, until the final episodes revealed the truth.
    • In "The Party Car", Brando jokes that Morgan couldn't make it, embarrassing Kez. This foreshadows that Morgan is actually a castle and therefore can never make it to parties outside of her car.
  • Book Four - Duet is loosely based on Nikolai Gogol's Nevsky Prospekt. This would make Morgan somewhat based on the buildings of Nevsky Prospekt, the titular street in St. Petersburg, like the Stroganov Palace.
  • Morgan can be described as a denizen who became emotionally disconnected due to passengers leaving her, Lindsay Katai originally considered this idea for Khaki Bottoms.
