Morgen Faust is a major antagonist in the anime and manga series Black Clover. He is the younger twn brother of Nacht Faust and a former Magic Knight of the Grey Deer squad. He is eventually revived by Lucius Zogratis as a Paladin.
Appearance[]
Morgen is a young man with long black hair put up in a high ponytail, gentle facial features, and fair skin. Morgen donned dark-colored belts and a light-colored jacket over the Grey Deer squad robe. Morgen has a lengthy robe composed of a thick, hairy fabric that he wears after becoming a Paladin.
He covers this with a fur mantle resembling the one he wore when he was a Magic Knight. The clasp is star-adorned and shaped like a diamond. In addition, he has two belts around his waist; his grimoire bag hangs off the right side of one of them.
Personality[]
Unlike his twin, who acts delinquently and with a selfish mentality, Morgen is cheerful and conducts appropriately. He is a compassionate person who becomes a Magic Knight to save others. His influence softens a young misbehaving Yami and persuades him to become a captain; his death and sorrowful dream turn Nacht into a more upright individual committed to vanquishing evil and becoming a Magic Knight himself.
After becoming a Paladin he adopts Lucius's beliefs, but still holds some traits of his former self, as seen when he was talking with Yami and Nacht.
Biography[]
The Faust House gave birth to Morgen and his twin, Nacht. Morgen grew up wanting to help people, so when he turns 15, he receives a grimoire and enlists in the Magic Knights' Grey Deer squad. Morgen makes friends with Yami Sukehiro, a Grey Deer knight who also happened to be Nacht's friend.
Years later, at the age of 19, Morgen discovers that his family has been using forbidden devil magic. Instead of informing the Magic Knights, he enters the room where the forbidden magic was conducted and attempts to talk his brother out of calling Lucifugus. The rest of the family is attacked and killed by the devil after Nacht refuses to listen. Morgen breaks the devil's bracelet by leaping into the magic circle, finishing the ceremony and banishing the devil to the underworld. Morgen shares his dream of him and his brother working together as Magic Knights to defend the Clover Kingdom as he passes away in Nacht's arms.
Years later, Morgen is brought back to life by Lucius Zogratis and was turned into a Paladin. Morgen and Lucius enter the Noble Realm, where the Magic Knights were stationed. At first, Jack the Ripper mistakes Morgen for Nacht. Then, Morgen utilizes magic to pierce Jack's stomach, killing him in the process. Then Morgen turns to face Yami and Nacht.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Light Magic: Morgen uses this magic attribute to create and control light.
- Dark Magic: As a Paladin, Morgen uses this magic type to create and control darkness. He uses this magic to conjure a dark sword and a large mass of darkness to draw in opponents.
