Morgus is the secondary antagonist and greater scope villain in the 1984 Doctor Who serial "The Caves of Androzani". He was the corrupt chairman of the Androzani Sirius Conglomerate and the arch nemesis of Sharaz Jek.

He was portrayed by the late John Normington.

Role

Morgus was a greedy and manipulative man who cut several deals with the man Sharaz Jek of whom he'd later betray causing a massive explosion in his labs, disfiguring him in the process. Since then Morgus rose to power as a malevolent and cruel dictator. He was one of the two controllers of the substance Spectrox and attempted to get the rest from its other control (who happened to be Jek). He thought several battles against Jek. During one of these later battles he'd come across the Doctor during his attempt to find a cure for Spectrox toxaemia, an illness which he and Peri had contracted previously. Morgus attempts to kill the Doctor but fails angering him to the point of shoving the president down an elevator shaft believing him to have hired the Doctor.

Soon after this he along with Jek's former mercenary Stotz and infiltrated his base murdering almost all of his androids and even some of his own men himself. After having finally found Jek he attempted to kill him but instead had his own life ended n the process after Jek forced his head into a laser beam. Jek and Stotz would join him in deah shortly after this.

Personality

Morgus was a cruel, malicious, greedy, heartless and unfeeling man who disregarded everybody and was willing to kill anybody if it gave him self gain or not. Morgus despised Sharaz Jek and raged constant war against him until it would cost him his own life. He was also highly manipulative convincing various forces to join his cause on numerous occasions.
