I see this is how you dare challenge me! I, Morhurl, Master of the Great Mountain! But you have made a mistake: you should have listened to the Dragon of the Waters, but you failed to do so, you little boaster, and it makes me stronger still! You lose this time, goodbye!
~ Morhurl if the player fails to rearrange the crystals in the right order.

Morhurl is the main antagonist of The Fire Mountain chapter in the 1998 edutainment game Forestia. He is an evil sorcerer who takes control of a volcano to destroy Forestia.

Biography[]

Morhurl's past is shrouded in mystery, but it's heavily implied that he was the reason for the Crystal Masters (the ones who were in charge of bringing peace to Forestia via three magical crystals) getting decimated, which would explain how he got his hands on the crystals in the first place.

Morhurl placed a curse on Forestia, killing at least five of its inhabitants (including Daddyoak and his son), caged a weasel and awakened the Fire Mountain, a volcano that he plans to use to destroy all of Forestia.

To stop him, the player must reach his tower and place the crystals in the right order. Once his tower is reached, Morhurl will exit it, locking the door with the key and leaving it nearby before turning into a crow and flying away.

The player can also take a secondary path to the tower, which will let them see a very brief fight between Morhurl and a mysterious benevolent sorcerer (although Morhurl is offscreen during this). If the player continues to where the wizard threw his attack, Morhurl will jumpscare the player and teleport them in front of the Fire Mountain. At this point Sam will appear, telling the player they shouldn't have done this before being struck by a lightning (possibly casted by Morhurl himself) and slowly fading away.

If the player rearranges the crystals in the wrong order, Morhurl will appear, teasing them for their failure before activating the volcano, killing the player and destroying all of Forestia. If the player instead succeeds, Forestia will return to normal, and Morhurl won't be seen ever again.
