Moroi are a race vampire like creatures from Romanian mythology
despite orginating from Romanian legend it is believed that the name Moroi comes from Old Slavonic mythology.
History[]
While Morori are vampire creatures from Romanian myth in more modern day stories they are considered to be offspring of strigoi. Just like how vampire need to drink blood to survive Moroi need to drain energy from the living to survive. Like many varieties Moroi are nocturnal, immortal and need to drain energy from others. In other myths the Moroi are assocpriorities. In other myths Moroi associated with creatures like strigoi, varcolac and pricolici. Aside from Moroi from being vampire creatures from Romanian folklore Moroi's are also featured in media such as Mortal Kombat, Vampire Academy and other forms of media.
Because Moroi are similar to vampires Moroi happens to be another name given to vampires in the Mortal Kombat franchise. While Moroi is another name for vampire in the Mortal Kombat franchise in media like Vampire Academy and others Moroi is not a name for vampires but rather a species of vampire. Aside from being vampire like creatures in some myths Moroi are portrayed as ghosts or phantoms because of this there are people who believe that Moroi are ghostly vampires.
