Morph Moth is one of the eight Maverick bosses and a minor antagonist in Mega Man X2. He is a mysterious Repliroid (a more advanced Robot Master) who has the power to absorb scraps and junk, assimilating them in order to transform.

Personality[]

Morph Moth is lazy and takes a lackadaisical approach to whatever job he has.

Appearance[]

10-MorphMoth

Morph Moth has two forms that he can shift between. In his starting form, Moth cloaks his body in purple metal logs that make him resemble a bagworm and hide his limbs. He can also shift into a butterfly-like state that exposes his limbs and gives him yellow butterfly wings on his back, at which point he loses his "Bagworm Form"'s log armor.

Biography[]

Morph Moth is a Reploid capable of changing his own body by absorbing scraps and junk. While his origins are unknown, he joined Sigma's rebellion, taking over a robot junkyard where he uses his abilities to restore fallen Reploids using the recycled machinery in the place.

Morph Moth has two phases to his fight. Beginning in a cocoon form, he will swing while scattering junk, eventually dropping into the ground and dashing. After stopping he will dangle himself again and start absorbing junk in a circular motion, becoming larger. After absorbing enough junk or getting low on health he will pull himself up and morph into his second, humanoid form. In this form, Moth will fly above the player and scatter harmful dust, eventually stopping to fire a laser beam. His weakness is the Speed Burner.
