The Mortimer Snerds are major antagonists of the Stephen King novel Carrie and it's film adaptations.
They are a group of popular female bullies led by Chris Hargensen, the queen bee of the school who look down on outcasts and mistreat them and who take pleasure in tormenting Carrie White.
They are led by Chris Hargensen in the novel and bully Carrie White by throwing tampons and sanitary napkins at her when she is having her period. Miss Desjardin sees this and calms Carrie down while the girls leave the school bathroom.
They later get punished by Miss Desjardin for their behavior in a week's detention. Sue Snell, one of the girls that bullied Carrie starts to feel bad and has her boyfriend Tommy Ross take Carrie to the prom, while Chris, the lead bully skips detention and gets suspended for three days.
The girls later appear at the prom and some start to treat Carrie well, since she is with Tommy Ross. Later when Carrie gets drenched with pig blood by Chris, everyone, even the girls start laughing at her, which leads to Carrie unleashing her telekinetic powers and creates mass destruction to the prom, killing almost everyone, even the girls.
1976 film[]
They appear in the 1976 film adaptation as Chris' cronies and bully Carrie White like in the novel, by throwing pads and tampons at her and chanting "Plug it up!" when she was having her period and they all die in the Black Prom at the hands of Carrie, except for Sue Snell and Mary Blake.
2002 TV film[]
In the 2002 remake, they are renamed "The Ultras" and like the novel and 1976 film, they bully Carrie White and all die, except for Sue who wasn't at the prom.
2013 film[]
In the 2013 film adaptation, they appear as bullies to Carrie White like in the novel and 1976 and 2002 film adaptations, as they throw pads and tampons at her chanting "Plug it up!" when she is having her period and they all die at the hands of Carrie, except for Sue, like in the previous adaptations.
