Moses is the leader of a group of Black Ghost remnants based in the Middle East and the main antagonist of the "Middle East" arc of the Cyborg 009 manga.

Believing himself to be a prophet of God, Moses seeks to conquer the world and rule it as God's voice. His cell of Black Ghost was responsible for selling weapons to both sides of the Russian-Afghan conflict.

Personality[]

Moses seems to be a mad and fanatical individual, warning trespassers to go or face the wrath of God. He desires to establish control over the Middle East and the world as God's servant. Anyone who challenges him is a "sinner" that must be destroyed. Moses seems to be quite the clever strategist. He was able to lure the cyborgs into his traps and utilize advanced technology to make it look like he was performing supernatural feats (i.e. controlling the weather and summoning monsters). Moses also seems to be fine committing unethical acts like human experimentation and arms dealing to keep nations fighting for the sake of world domination. Despite knowing his "miracles" are really illusions, Moses still believes he is a prophet of god, indicating delusions of grandeur. 009 once described him as a "bloodthirsty murderer".

Biography[]

Moses and his cell of Black Ghost sold weapons to both sides of the war in Afghanistan between the Soviet Union and the Afghan government, including swarms of genetically-modified disease-carrying locusts. This eventually attracted the attention of the 00 Cyborgs, who went to the Middle East to investigate. The cyborgs met an archaeologist and his daughter near some ruins before a vision of Moses appeared and warned them to go away.

However, the heroes write him off as a mere religious nut. When the cyborgs refused to back down, Moses summoned his "Hell Beast" to wreak havoc upon them, leading to the death of the archaeologist, before he and the Hell Beast mysteriously vanished. Upon investigating the ruins, the cyborgs discovered that Moses and the Hell Beast were merely illusions created by hidden machinery in the ruins.

Tracking Moses down to his secret Black Ghost hideout, Cyborgs 009 and 002 discovered a vast underground base. However, Moses soon took notice of the cyborgs and ordered his troops to capture them. Facing off against the two cyborgs, Moses reveals he lured them to his base in order to test out their fighting methods.

009 and 002 manage to escape, but 002 is injured in the process. Meanwhile, Cyborgs 004, 006 and 007 also attempt to infiltrate the base but soon find themselves confronted by Moses' Hell Beast, who incapacitates them with its cryokinetic powers.

However, 009 and 002 manage to make it to Moses' control room and defeat him, knocking him away from the Hell Beast's controls and allowing the three cyborgs to escape. Cyborg 001 exposes Moses as a fraud by revealing that his Hell Beast is just a giant robot built to freeze objects. Cyborg 001 then uses his psychic powers to take control of the Hell Beast and turns it on Moses, having it freeze and kill the evil prophet before destroying the Black Ghost base.
