The Mother Sea Whelk is the titular main antagonist of the SpongeBob SquarePants episode “Whelk Attack”
She is the giant mother and leader of the Sea Whelks that attack the Bikini Bottom.
Biography[]
SpongeBob and Patrick are in Jellyfish Fields when they hear a strange sound. A stampe of large Sea Whelks make their way through Jellyfish Fields while breaking anything in their way. The Sea Whelks cover SpongeBob and Patrick in purple goo, which SpongeBob cleans up. As the Sea Whelks make their way towards Bikini Bottom, SpongeBob and Patrick decide to warn everyone about them, however, the Sea Whelks are already terrorizing the citizens, blowing purple goo bubbles around their victims and then swallowing them. SpongeBob and Patrick Wonder what the Sea Whelks are.
The Realistic Fish Head explains the Sea Whelks on TV, and signs off the news when he gets eaten by one of the Sea Whelks. Patrick proclaims that he's not afraid of the Sea Whelks and provokes one of them by blowing a raspberry at it, which causes it to chase him and SpongeBob to the Krusty Krab. When they arrive, they warn Mr. Krabs about the danger. The Sea Whelks make their way to the Krusty Krab, however, Mr. Krabs thinks that they're just normal customers.
A large Mother Sea Whelk is then revealed and assists her "babies". When Mr. Krabs offers all of them Krabby Patties, not only does the Mother Sea Whelk dislike and spit them out, but she also swallows him, as well as Squidward and the entire Krusty Krab. SpongeBob and Patrick run to Sandy's treedome, where Sandy only allows them to come in after confirming that they aren't Sea Whelks. Sandy puts metal armor around the treedome for protection against the Sea Whelks and tells SpongeBob and Patrick her plan to defeat them.
The Sea Whelks crack and destroy the treedome and SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy are then swallowed by the Mother Sea Whelk. While inside the Mother Sea Whelk, Sandy discovers that the Sea Whelks are sick. SpongeBob helps the Sea Whelks get better by doing what he did to cure his suds, which reveals the Mother Sea Whelks' true form, a tiny helpless Sea Whelk, SpongeBob then does this to all of the Sea Whelks and restores their happy family. All of the people that got eaten are rescued, and the episode ends with Squidward complaining about how all of this was just because the Sea Whelks had the sniffles, and he then gets dozed by purple goo after one of the Sea Whelks sneezes.
