Mother Sphere is the overarching antagonist of the sci-fi action game Stellar Blade. She is an artificial intelligent being created by Raphael Marks, tasked with overseeing the Colony. She was created for the sole purpose of serving the future of humanity.
She is also the one responsible for humanity's downfall, having deemed humanity to be obsolete and seeking to replace them with her own creations, the Andro-Eidos. As a result, she indirectly forced humanity to transform themselves into Naytibas, in hopes that they would be strong enough to combat against her and her army.
She is voiced by Kim Ha-Ru in the Korean dub of the game and by Georgina Jane in its English dub.
Personality[]
Mother Sphere largely remains an enigmatic being, who is only told through stories and rumours passed down by those who worship her, as well as those who fear her. Those that worship her view her as a benevolent deity dedicated to protecting and serving humankind. Those that fear her, however, believe Mother Sphere to not be exactly what she may seem to be.
As part of her design, she is dedicated to helping humanity thrive towards a good future that will allow them to evolve. However, she came to the conclusion that the original human species needed to be eliminated in order for this to be achieved and as such, she did not hesitate to turn against them and have them be driven to extinction. She concluded that her creations, the Andro-Eidos, would be best suited to serve as the next step of humanity's evolution.
She doesn't value them anything more than pawns beyond that, however, as she has proven to lie and manipulate them regarding the history of humanity, as well as the true nature of both Andro-Eidos and Naytibas. Whenever she discovers those that have learned the truth about her and her actions, she does not hesitate to deem them traitors and have them be eliminated.
Likewise, when meeting with EVE and Lily for the first time, she deems EVE to be of no use to her plans anymore, especially after seeing she has fused with the Elder Naytiba. Throughout this ordeal however, she presents herself a cordial and respectful manner, acknowledging EVE's success in defeating the Elder Naytiba and respecting the choices she made even, going as far as to say she managed to surpass her expectations.
Despite going against his dream and her goal of having his kind be eliminated, Mother Sphere appears to value Adam in a sentimental way, acknowledging him as her father and the one that brought her into the world. She believes her actions are all in honor of her creator and finds his demise to be bittersweet.
