The mouse is the main antagonist of the Looney Tunes short "Canned Feud." He is a mouse who enjoys tormenting Sylvester, and appears intent on making him starve for no apparent reason.
He was voiced by Mel Blanc.
Biography[]
When Sylvester has been left alone by his owners, he finds a supply of canned food, but can't open it. The mouse then appears and reveals that he has stolen the can opener, and refuses to let Sylvester have it. He keeps taunting Sylvester by offering to give him the can opener, then withholding it at the last minute, causing Sylvester to injure himself. He begins subjecting Sylvester to a series of cruel pranks when he tries to get the can opener, such as torturing him by electrocuting him and burning him with hot coals. At one point Sylvester attempts to crush the mouse with a piano, and the mouse pretends to give him the can opener, but this is a ploy to trick Sylvester into dropping the piano on himself.
Eventually Sylvester has had enough and stuffs a large supply of explosives into the mouse's hole, which he then detonates. The explosion dislodges the can opener and Sylvester catches it. However, he then discovers that the mouse has padlocked the food cabinet shut and is now withholding the key needed to open it.
Personality[]
He is clearly sadistic as he enjoys tormenting Sylvester and seemingly dooms him to starve to death, despite Sylvester having done nothing to provoke him at all, making the short a notable deviation from a typical "cat and mouse" cartoon.
