Mr. Clown is a supporting antagonist in the 2018 animated webseries Spooky Month.
He is a seemingly harmless clown that in fact is a serial kidnapper based on the numerous missing posters behind him and the wanted poster seemingly depicting him, and seemingly a member of the cult located within the spooky house. but is brought to an end in Spooky Month: Unwanted Guest after being shot.
He is voiced by his creator, Sr. Pelo.
Appearance[]
Mr. Clown was a portly clown wearing a bright yellow onesie with red buttons, blue striped sleeves and a ruff, along with bright red shoes. He had red, curly hair and his whole face was covered in white makeup, with his nose situated between his unblinking eyes. He would often be seen holding a balloon in his left hand and hiding a mallet behind his back with his right, which he used to knock his victims unconscious before swiping them up in his sack.
Personality[]
Mr. Clown appeared to be a sadistic man as shown by how he laughs in glee after kidnapping a child and smashing the viewer's screen and covering it with a sack in an attempt to kidnap them as well in the jumpscare ending of Spooky Month: The Stars. He also seemed to be insane, as his final words and only comprehensible sentence so far seemed to be a crazy rambling.
Despite this, he seems to be able of controlling himself and acting civilly as when Skid and Pump ask for a joke, he tells them a joke and even greets them, although he does kidnap the next child who asks him for a joke.
Biography[]
Spooky Month: The Stars[]
Mr. Clown first appears in the alleyway Skid and Pump teleport to after eating ice cream. They ask him for a joke, which he does. Pump then tells Skid that they should go to the internet and float up to his house. Afterwards another child approaches Mr. Clown asking for a joke, but Mr. Clown simply slams them over the head with his mallet and swipes them up in his sack before laughing maniacally.
Afterwards, he appears in the background in some shots, watching Skid and Pump. He also appears in the YouTube ending, smashing the viewer's screen with his mallet before drawing a sack over it.
Spooky Month: Unwanted Guest[]
Mr. Clown is referenced by Sheriff John when he tells Deputy Jack it wasn't his intention to shoot "him", who remains anonymous for most of the video.
In the Newgrounds ending, it is revealed that after the events of Spooky Month: The Stars, John and Jack go up the hill to investigate the mysterious occurrences at the house there, only to find a bunch of hooded cultists gathered around a hole in the floor. They notice the police officers and begin to approach, to which they respond by drawing their pistols. Suddenly, Mr. Clown appears in the center of the crowd, telling the police officers "We will take all and get everything, everything will give us more than is all", scaring Jack who shoots him in the chest. Mr. Clown falls to the ground, and the police officers exit, with a frightened Jack still shooting at him, killing him off screen.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Hammer Space: Mr Clown can draw out a sack from an unknown space from behind his back even though he has already hid a mallet there previously.
- Teleportation: Mr Clown has been shown to be able to seemingly appear out of nowhere in the background.
Trivia[]
- Mr. Clown seems to be inspired on a design standpoint by Pennywise, specifically how he appears in the 1990 miniseries.
- It’s heavily theorized that Mr. Clown’s true identity is Mayor Evermore’s assistant Garcia, thanks to the two sharing body shapes, appearing to be elderly and primarily wearing yellow.
- Furthermore, Mayor Evermore is implied to have connections to the Cult thanks to having its symbol carved into his office walls. Thus, it'd make sense for Garcia to have connections too.
