~ Mr. Genetor before battle. |
Mr. Genetor is a major antagonist in Mother 3. He is an overarching antagonist in Chapter 4, and the secondary antagonist of Chapter 5. He is the generator and security system of Thunder Tower that produces zaps to destroy the houses of people who won't buy Happy Boxes in Tazmily.
Personality[]
Little is known of Mr. Genetor. However, when speaking to the protagonists, he is very straight forward and could possibly have no personality as his warning itself may be programmed in, yet he is one of the several bosses in the game that have unique dialogue when the player fights him again after dying the first time.
Biography[]
Chapter 3[]
In Chapter 3, Fassad foreshadows the Thunder Tower being used to destroy houses in Tazmily if villagers don't buy Happy Boxes while making his speech. Initially, the villagers find this ridiculous.
Chapter 4[]
Fassad's speech turns out to appear especially true when Lucas's house has been turned into the "lightning house" of Tazmily Village, people gather up to see it simply due to how many times the Thunder Tower has tried to strike it with lightning. No one quite knows where the lightning comes from however, and while exploring the village it's soon realized that Lucas' house isn't the only one victim to this, as Alec has been forced to move into the nursing home after how many times his house has been struck, and Reggie's tent has also been struck with lightning.
People begin to scorn Lucas for not owning a Happy Box, frustrated why he wouldn't after how many times his house has been struck with lighting. It's later revealed in Club Titiboo, if the player looks through the binoculars, that the Thunder Tower is what has been striking houses with lighting. This is the first time it is seen in game.
Chapter 5[]
in Chapter 5, Lucas finally enters the Thunder Tower. It is a base in which Pigmasks commence their operations through various means. Some Pigmasks even question the ethicality of Thunder Tower, realizing that what they're doing is bad. Mr. Genetor is first hinted towards by a Pigmask who says that the top of the tower has a failproof security system, that would be a mini-boss for anyone who dares to destroy the tower. When the Pork Trooper is defeated, Fassad finds Lucas and Co. out. Once they give chase, the protagonists aim to reach the top and destroy the generator. Once they do, the security system activates and Mr. Genetor himself comes out to attack the gang, serving as the chapter's final boss.
He attacks the group with high voltage chops and waves of electricity, by extension he is also immune to electricity. Each physical attack dealt towards him sends twenty damage back at the attacker. Mr. Genetor charges one hundred HP throughout turns, but when he's charging the player can attack without being countered. Eventually after succumbing enough damage, Mr. Genetor's charger breaks and the party can finish him off. Upon his destruction, Thunder Tower begins to malfunction and Fassad later reveals that the Thunder Tower is useless without Mr. Genetor, and intends to destroy it with Lucas and his friends inside. This however backfires as Fassad falls off the tower and Lucas take his ride, escaping as the tower is destroyed. The tower can be visited in later chapters, but due to having crumbled down it'll be closed off and the player cannot enter as a Pigmask will prevent them from doing so.
Trivia[]
- Mr. Genetor's name is likely a pun on "generator" and "janitor".
- Despite being considered a "mini-boss" by one of the Pigmasks, he's actually quite strong for an enemy at his point of the game, being stronger than even some of the bosses in Chapter 7.
