Mr. Nimbus is a supporting antagonist in the Adult Swim animated series, Rick and Morty. He is the Lecherous king of the oceans who in the past was the former friend-turned-second arch-nemesis of Rick Sanchez, after at some point their friendship fell apart, forcing to banish the scientist following a treaty between interacting with his ocean territory, Nimbus returns to Harass Rick after the treaty was broken.
He was voiced by Dan Harmon. In Rick and Morty: The Anime, he was voiced by Fuminori Komatsu in Japanese and Brandon Hearnserger in English.
Appearance[]
Mr. Nimbus looks like a human but has frills on the side of his neck. His ears also look different than humans. He has dark hair, his eyes are yellow and green and his lips are blue. He wears red swimming speedos and a purple cape.
Biography[]
Mr. Nimbus fought Rick Sanchez for many unperiod amounts of years, but Rick "outgrew" Nimbus, as he was an embarrassment to him. Nimbus would theorize, that Rick was a living husk, hinting at his past life gone by another. Despite this Nimbus still carried feelings of his old enemy, still thinking him as a friend.
He appears in at large seashell in the episode, when Morty emergency lands the Space Cruiser in the sea on Earth. Rick goes into panic, when he sees that they have landed in the sea.
Mr. Nimbus tells Rick, that he has "desecrated the sacred treaty betwixt land and sea and now must face his anger." Rick invites him over to try and and smooth things over, while he actually wants to as he says "While I bullshit my way through this peace summit treaty with Nimbus, Summer is gonna dive into the Marianas Trench to recover the forbidden shell that gives him his power."
When Mr. Nimbus arrives, he insults Rick. Jerry calls the police, but Mr. Nimbus does not care, since he controls the police. Later in the episode things don't go so well. Mr. Nimbus is not satisfied with the wine that Morty gets for him. He then says, that he will drown the surface world. Rick doesn't seem to care. At some point Rick and Mr. Nimbus are close at becoming friends again, when Summer returns with the shell, that gives Mr. Nimbus his power. Rick tries to convince Mr. Nimbus that he was not trying to trick him. Mr. Nimbus does not take this easy, he starts beating Rick up. He also gets the police to arrest him, since he controls the police.
Personality[]
Nimbus is a cocky, thrill seeking but strategic character, when tempted of danger or threats, he has tendencies to strike back at his adversaries. He uses his abilities such as commanding water, sea creatures and controlling the authorities at his disposal and often is a glory hog to showcase it in front of others.

- Mr. Nimbus resembles Namor the Sub-Mariner and also has the powers of Aquaman.
- Mr. Nimbus is one of the few characters to actually defeat Rick Sanchez.
- Rick mentions he had sex with countless mermaids of Atlantis, that happened off screen in Season 3, foreshadowing Mr. Nimbus's eventual appearance in Season 5.
- Nimbus mentions that he is aware of Rick's history with Diane Sanchez.
- Nimbus often calls Rick Sanchez "Richard".
- When Rick and Nimbus argue in the smith house, Nimbus mentions a famous meme: "Am I A Joke To You?" which was often used from the late 2010s to early 2020s.
