This is what artistic know-nothings like you get!
~ Mr. Passion

Mr. Passion, also known as Lord Passion, is a supporting antagonist in Mother 3. He is the secondary antagonist of Chapter 2 and a minor antagonist in Chapter 5.

Personality[]

Mr. Passion is intolerant of anything but positive feedback on his artistic decisions. He is also, very artistic. He has a tendency to ramble about art even in battle. Mr. Passion is highly inconsiderate of his surroundings, blocking doorways and even dragging mice into his whirlwinds of music. It's because of this, he often clashes with the party when they visit Osohe Castle. He can also tend to cry easily, which is shown to be a weakness of his in battle.

Biography[]

Backstory[]

Before the Osohe Castle became haunted, Mr. Passion was a composer who passed away before he could compose his last symphony.

Mother 3[]

Chapter 2[]

Mr. Passion is Duster's first true challenge in the game. He is the secondary antagonist of Chapter 2, being the last boss fought before Duster obtains the Noble Spitoon. Mr. Passion blocks a path to the room, surrounding the doorway with a whirlwind of objects including a mouse. Mr. Passion asks for Duster's opinion on his music, if Duster claims not to be impressed by it, Mr. Passion will engage in a battle. This is the only way to progress. Mr. Passion is highly vulnerable to most of Duster's thief tools, the tickle stick and scary mask are especially helpful for bringing him down. He is most vulnerable to smoke bombs. When Duster defeats him, he disappears as all items, including the mouse, collapse. The mouse thanks Duster, and offers him to rest on a nearby couch.

Chapter 5[]

Mr. Passion is a secret boss in Chapter 5, returning as Lord Passion. He once again terrorizes the higher floor of Osohe Castle, where he blocks the doorway to the top. Lucas and company all meet him together, as he boasts his new symphony. The player can compliment his symphony, however he then proceeds to ask their thoughts on his new curls, in which he must be insulted in order to obtain one of Duster's most powerful weapons, the Mystical Shoes. Lord Passion is far stronger than most bosses up until this point, well-exceeding bosses that are fought even beyond this point of the game. He has 2897 HP, which is more than both Pork Trooper battles, Ms. Marshmallow, and the Forlorn Junk Heap which follow after him. He is the second strongest enemy in the Chapter, however beating him is fairly rewarding nonetheless. Once he is defeated, he leaves Osohe Castle and the protagonists alone for the rest of the game.
