Mr. Yamaoka is an overarching antagonist of Dead by Daylight.
He was the father of Rin Yamaoka who would become known as the Spirit.
Biography[]
Mr. Yamaoka was once a kind and caring family man who worked at a big company to support his family being the only source of income.
When his daughter, Rin, got into a private university and his wife fell ill, bills began to pile up forcing him to start working double-shifts in the hopes that he might get a promotion, but he unwittingly became a scapegoat after a production screw-up cost the business, he had been working at for 22 years millions. He was fired after asking for a promotion.
Having been slowly corrupted by the Entity for a while, he finally snapped and murdered his wife, violently cutting her into tiny pieces with a katana, when Rin came home and saw what had happened, she tried to defend herself against her father though she was unsuccessful and was eventually cut up just like her mother.
Before he could make the killing blow, a vengeful Rin Yamaoka vowed that she would make him pay for what he had done to her and her mother either in this life or the next.
It's unknown what happened to Mr. Yamaoka after this, whether Rin was able to come back as the Spirit and wreak vengeance or if he got away with his crimes.
Trivia[]
- The Entity had originally intended on taking Mr. Yamaoka as its new killer but abandoned him after sensing far greater darkness in his daughter claiming her instead.
- Mr. Yamaoka is a descendant of the Oni.
