Mrs. Toad is the secondary antagonist in 1994 animated film, Thumbelina. She is Grundel's mother.

She was voiced by Charo.

Role in the film

Mrs. Toad serves as the first antagonist to appear in Thumbelina.

She is the mother of three sons, and they are a traveling family known as "The Singers De Espana".

She kidnaps Thumbelina while she is asleep in her bed, and tries to force her into joining her tour and marrying her son Grundel. Thumbelina kindly rejects the offer, but Mrs. Toad doesn't listen and rushes off to get her husband. She is not seen after this until the end credits where she is seen happy for her son Grundel in finding a female toad to marry.

Personality

Mrs. Toad is a selfish, vain, busty, and arrogant toad who wants Thumbelina to marry her son, Grundel.

Trivia

Mrs. Toad is the second Don Bluth anthropomorphic character to have a bosom, the first one is Goldie from Rock-a-Doodle.
Although Grundel is the real main antagonist, she served as The Heavy because it was the kidnapping of Thumbelina that drove the plot of the film, which made Grundel the Big Bad and the one behind the plot.
