~ Mistress Mugan imprisoning Tigress

Mistress Mugan is a minor antagonist in Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness, serving as the main antagonist of the episode "A Tigress Tale".

She is publicly known as one of the most prestigious and respect masters in the Kung Fu community. However, within the closed doors of her Garnet Palace, Mugan is actually a sadist who abuses her students and burdens them with expectations so she can break them into becoming her slaves.

She was voiced by April Winchell, who also voiced Black Heron from the 2017 DuckTales reboot series, Cruella De Vil from 101 Dalmatians: The Series, Ma Duskerton from Gravity Falls and Clarabelle Cow from Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers.

Appearance[]

Mugan is a Shubunkin goldfish with green eyes. Her scales are primarily orange at the top, white at the bottom, and black scales are arranged to form numerous patterns all across the body. Perhaps the most notable aspect of Mugan is her long fins and tails, which are razor sharp which is what she uses in combat.

Personality[]

At first, Mistress Mugan appears to be a strict but still respectable Kung Fu teacher who holds the martial art on a very sacred art and so is very passionate and wants to spread it to her students.

However in truth, unlike Master Shifu, Mugan has no close relationship with her students. She does not bother giving them any sort of compliment as she subjects them to back-breaking training, wanting to break them so she can appease her ego creating the perfect Kung Fu warrior, and revels when they all fail and could only be empty shells of their former selves who have no will to life than being her slaves.

With her perfectionist views comes immense haughtiness, priding in her impressive skills on precision, that she cannot fathom she has any weakness. Po and Wu Yong notice this and take advantage of it to tear Mugan's strengths down and imprison her.

Biography[]

Mistress Mugan is one of the most well-reputed teachers of Kung Fu and head of the Garnet Palace. Known for her dedicated focus to Kung Fu and her strict training, Mugan appears as a more reasonable figure to others.

In truth, Mugan was a sadist who upon having others dedicate themselves to be her students, subjects them to back-breaking training that degrades them physically or mentally doing near impossible tasks to which she never shows signs of being impressed at all, while imprisoning the students at the Garnet Palace and forbidding them from ever leaving.

These all culminates in all her students breaking one by one physically and mentally that all they can be in life are just empty-shells of servants she abuses. One especially notable case was the tough warrior, Wu Yong, who was perhaps her greatest student yet Mugan was never impressed and this lead to his body breaking and becoming her crippled servant.

Arriving in the Jade Palace, Mugan requests one of the Furious Five to become one of her new students to replace Wu Yong, while making her disdain for Po's unorthodox nature very clear. When Tigress volunteers, Mugan leaves the Jade Palace with her.

Subjecting Tigress to the harsh and backbreakign training, it slowly takes a toll on Tigress mentally as she starts missing the Jade Palace. Upon learning about Wu Yong's story, Tigress asks if she could leave the Garnet palace and return to the Jade Palace. However Mugan locks Tigress up on her quarters while promising like the others before her, she will break her.

However, Po comes and talk to Tigress into coming back into the Jade Palace, and learns the entire place is a prison for Tigress. Freeing Tigress, Mugan confronts them, to which Po and Tigress team up to defeat them.

However, Mugan's precision overwhelms both of them. But Wu Yong, inspired by Tigress and Po to finally stand up for himself, tries to knock down one of the pillars with Wu Yong that Mugan uses for her combat. Po picks up on this and knocks all the pillars back to the water, trapping the evil fish in the process as a punishment for her actions.
