Muimui is a minor antagonist in the roleplaying game Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

He was voiced by Yuji Mitsuya in Japanese and Jonathon Keeble in English.

Appearance

Muimui is a turquoise Nopon with black hair and pink cheeks. He wears swirly white glasses and a pink suit with a white coat.

Biography

Muimui was the assistant to Professor Soosoo, a Nopon inventor from Gormott who created ether furnaces that could create artificial Blades for those who could not awaken a Core Crystal. Alongside Tatazo and Tora, Soosoo's son and grandson, Muimui assisted them in creating a prototype artificial Blade who they called Lila. However, Muimui happened to be the accomplice of Bana, the greedy chairman of the Argentum Guild and sold them out once Lila was almost complete. Muimui and his Tirkin guards attacked the lab, seemingly killing Soosoo and kidnapping Tatazo, forcing him to work in an abandoned factory in Mor Ardain for them to profit off of artificial Blades. Tora managed to escape and created his own artificial Blade based on the concepts for Lila: Poppi.

In Chapter Four, Muimui first meets the party when they reach Alba Cavanich, the capital of Mor Ardain and compliments Tora for creating his own artificial Blade. When Tora asks Muimui whatever happened to Tatazo, Muimui lies and says that he was away from the attack, thus he does not know where Tatazo went, but offers him and his friends a discount to the local inn. That night, Muimui makes Lila attack Alba Cavanich, tricking the Ardainian soldiers into thinking Poppi was the one who attacked the city. Fortunately, Niranira clears her claim to Inquisitor Mòrag. During their search for Lila's whereabouts, Muimui claims to help them track her location.

Muimui is then seen discussing with Bana inside the Old Factory where they are creating artificial Blades. Once Tora and the others arrive in the Old Factory and rescue Tatazo, Muimui reveals that he intentionally led the party to the factory on purpose to claim Poppi's ether furnace that replicates Soosoo's design before instructing his Tirkin guards to take out the intruders. When that fails, Tatazo tells Tora about Muimui's real plans and how he was responsible for Soosoo's death. Bana shows up and scolds Muimui for failing to capture the group and sends Lila to finish them off instead. Tatazo tells Tora to destroy Lila as Muimui reprogrammed her for evil purposes, but changes his mind since Lila was still his creation.

As the party is distracted, Bana and Muimui make their escape and go to pilot their ultimate artificial Blade, Rosa. Fortunately, Poppi upgrades her ether furnace with the help of Lila to become Poppi QT and helps the team defeat the giant robot. While Bana runs off, Muimui is left unconscious in front of the wreckage of Rosa and is never seen again. It is possible that he was arrested by the Ardainian guards for his crimes.

• The DLC Blade Quest "Shiny New Power" reveals that Soosoo survived Muimui's assassination attempt.
