Muller's android is the main antagonist of the Blake's 7 episode "Headhunter".
It was portrayed by Nick Joseph.
Biography[]
The android was created by a scientist named Muller. It had the ability to control circuits, meaning it could control anything mechanical. Aware of the danger it could pose, Muller designed a head that would limit the android's actions. However, before the head could be fitted, the android killed Muller. Muller had agreed to defect to the Scorpio crew and Scorpio was on its way to retrieve him, so the android decapitated Muller and attached his head to its body in order to impersonate him. The ruse fooled Tarrant, who took the android back to the ship, and coincidentally also brought along the box containing the head. The android protested and in a subsequent struggle, Vila struck it with a spanner and it was believed dead.
The android managed to gain control of Scorpio and teleport down to Xenon Base. It confronted the crew and killed Muller's wife Vena by crushing her to death. Its control of circuits meant it could disabled the crew's guns. Its primary objective was to acquire Orac, since his ability to access information from computers would make it all-powerful and allow it to dominate humanity. Tarrant and Dayna tried to kill "Muller" with a percussion-based grenade but it only destroyed the human head, revealing the android's true nature.
Avon worked out the truth of the situation and decided that they could disable the android with power from a hydro-electric plant: The android could control circuits but not stop flowing water. Vila and Soolin lured the android to the correct point with the android, with Tarrant and Dayna having electrified a bridge to disable it. Avon fitted the head, making the android safe and intending to use it. However, against his wishes but with Orac's approval, Tarrant and Dayna destroyed the android with explosives.
