Mumm-Ra is one of the two main antagonists of the crossover comic book event He-Man/Thundercats. Much like his other portrayals, he is an ancient mummy and dark sorcerer who serves the Ancient Spirits of Evil, as well as the self appointed ruler of Third Earth and sworn enemy of the Thundercats. After suffering yet another crushing defeat by the hand of the Thundercats, the Spirits of Evil lash out on him for his failure and teleport him to Eternia on a new mission. Once there he sets his sights on the power of Grayskull and ends up joining forces with Skeletor in order to rule the whole multiverse.

Appearance[]

As a mummy, Mumm-Ra is an old and decayed humanoid (thought to have been human at one point) of short size, with wrinkly gray skin, sharp nails and teeth and wholly red eyes that shine occasionally. He wears a red robe with a hood and has wraps all over his body like a true mummy.

When empowered by the Ancient Spirits of Evil in his Ever-Living form he grows much bigger and develops a hulking physique, with the strenght and size of a brute, towering over the likes of Panthro and even He-Man himself. Most of his wraps are gone, revealing his enormous muscles and a red brand on his chest depicting a two-headed snake. In this form he wears a helmet with the design of two snakes sticking from the sides and he can also wield weapons like a staff or the sword of Plundarr.

Personality[]

Like his original counterpart, Mumm-Ra is a wicked and vile sorcerer bent on conquering everything, who will stop at nothing to kill the Thundercats and reclaim the Sword of Omens as his prize. He is treacherous and manipulative, as despite serving the Spirits of Evil for entire ages he only cares abouth the powers they can bestow upon him to further his own ends. He has little to no care for his underlings, exploiting the Mutants of Plundarr as mere assets, though he may have a soft spot for his pet Ma-Mutt.
