Coin, coin!
~ The Mummy talking to the gang

The Mummy of Ankha is the main antagonist of the Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? episode, "Scooby-Doo and a Mummy, Too".

He was voiced by the late John Stephenson.

History

Dr. Najjib was a researcher at the Department of Archeology in a univeristy. He had helped with uncovering the Mummy and bringing him to the department. He learned the secret behind an ancient Egyptian coin, the secret that the coin would unlock Pharaoh Ankha's most valuable treasure. That treasure was the diamond scarab which was worth a fortune. So he made up a story about how the Mummy of Ankha would cast a curse on those who removed him from his tomb. The curse was that Ankha would come back to life and turn those people to stone.

In the beginning of the episode Mystery Inc. is at the Department of Archeology in the ancient Egypt section. The professor tallks about the Mummy of Ankha with the Scooby gang and explains all about him. Although Dr. Najib begins to talk about the curse of Ankha but he soon leaves. This is where his plan begins. Shaggy sees the old Egyptian coin and by mistake lays it in his pocket. The gang drives downtown to buy some sandwiches to eat while the professor stays at the department. While they're gone Dr. Najib takes the Mummy and hides him and dresses up as the Mummy of Ankha himself, making it seem like the Mummy's curse were true. The professor hears that glass crashes in the ancient Egypt section and goes to check it out. There he sees that the Mummy is gone and he becomes terrified. The Mummy then kidnaps the professor and gag and stuff him in sack which he locks up in shack. Najib then makes a stone replica of the professor and sets it in his office, so that it seem that the curse has begun.

When the gang comes back they discover the professor turned to stone. They exclaims that it must be the Mummy who turned him into stone and goes to check on him. The gang sees that the Mummy is gone and that the glass door leading into the Egyptian section is crushed. They split up in two groups; Fred, Dahpne and Velma, Shaggy, Scooby to look for clues. Velma, Shaggy and Scooby gets chased by the Mummy and tries to hide from him. But it doesn't work and they try to escape but ends up in a dead end. The Mummy says "coin, coin" and they understand it's the coin he wants, Velma and Shaggy are prepared to give him the coin but Scooby stops the Mummy just in time. They all run away thinking they caught the Mummy of Ankha but he escapes.

Meanhile all of that happened, Fred and Daphne is looking for clues outside and sees footprints of the Mummy and begins to follow them. They end up beside Dr. Najib's car and sees Dr. Najib turned to stone (although it's just a stone replica, but they don't know that). Inside Velma and the guys notices that the Mummy has escaped but he left one of his bandages. Velma says that it's not over 3000 years old and they all go to the school lab and tests it. They try to test the bandage but the Mummy gets there before they're done. Velma and Shaggy runs out of the room and meets Fred and Daphne. The gang notices that Scooby is gone and that the Mummy must have taken him. Daphne tells Velma and Shaggy that they found Dr. Najib turned to stone too. Everyone goes outside and sees a stone version of Scooby. As Shaggy mourns over the statue Scooby comes and they realize that the stone thing is fake. Inside they get chased by the Mummy multiple times and Shaggy and Scooby learn the secret behind the stone curse, they find quick hardening cement and all that you need to make stone statues. Shaggy and Scooby also finds the professor and realizes that all about the Mummy curse must be fake. Shaggy and Scooby begins to chase the Mummy with a big lawn mower which reslults in the Mummy finally being captured and unmasked. The gang sees it's Dr. Najib in the Mummy costume. Later everything is back to normal and the gang unlock Ankha's treasure with the coin and finds the diamond scarab.
