Munro (Reign)

Munro is the minor antagonist in the season three of Reign.

Munro is a dangerous and charismatic Scottish clan leader who harbors a grudge against the Queen of Scots.

He is portrayed by Scottish-American actor John Barrowman, who also portrayed Malcolm Merlyn in Arrow Patrick Logan in Desperate Housewives, Carrie in Torchwood, Flex Dexter in Fireman Sam: Set for Action and Stranger in The Super Hero Squad Show.

Early life

Munro was born and raised a Scottish noble, receiving the finest education and learning a bevy of languages, including Latin. When Marie de Guise named Munro's father a traitor, she took his lands and essentially cast himself and his family out to steal, starve, or die. Most of his brothers didn't make it. That is when he turned against the regime, including Mary Stuart.

Intruders

When Mary is alone with Munro he realizes who she really is; Mary soon plunges a cross into his neck and stabs him with the sword Francis made for her. Mary talks about how Munro plotted her assassination and there was no need for it; however in the end he is responsible for the death of her beloved husband. Soon after she and Bash take two horses and ride for Edinburgh Castle.

Personality

Lord Munro appears to be a proud, but bitter man - he shows a certain amount of chivalry toward Mary, when she just presents herself as simply a shipwrecked maiden- but when her identity is revealed, he shows the fury he holds for her mother's ruthless behaviour toward he, and others.

Physical Appearance

Lord Munro is tall, attractive and powerfully built, with short dark brown hair.

Relationships

Other than his brief flirtation with Mary, while she was hiding her true royal identity- he reveals he had an adversarial relationship with Mary's late mother.

Trivia

• Munro was the leader of the gang of assassins that Francis rescued Mary from in In a Clearing.
