The Muscle Devil is a minor antagonist in Chainsaw Man, being presently only found in the manga. He is the kidnapper of a little girl, and he seemingly forms some kind of strong bond together due to the fact that he saved her from her seemingly abusive father until the devil ripped his mask off and revealed himself as a true sadist in the end loving to hurt others.
Appearance[]
In his first appearance, the Muscle Devil appears to be like a harmless devil that has a body shaped like an eel and only one eye. However, as his true nature was revealed, his appearance suddenly changed from a seemingly innocent creature to an ugly abomination shaped like human muscle but larger with an unkempt teeth and multiple eyes.
Personality[]
The Muscle Devil initially appears as a harmless devil forming a strong bond with a little girl after he seemingly perform a benevolent intentions by saving the girl from her abusive father in the convenience store. However, as the story went by, it was revealed to be nothing but a facade as the Muscle Devil is revealed to be a Devil who delights in hurting others including the little girl that she befriended so that he could keep his own enemy down before toying with them for his own amusement.
Biography[]
Introduction Arc[]
In Chapter 2, when Denji was saved by Makima and seemingly was indebted to her to the point that they went to the convenience store to take some rest, they then encountered a bystander that was attacked by a devil and his daughter was taken away from him and was ragged into the woods. Hearing the man's pleas, Makima then orders Denji to kill the devil while she waited for her udon and threatening Denji to be euthanized if he refused much to Denji's disappointment.
As he went deeper into the woods to track the devil, Denji then encountered both the devil and the innocent girl that was kidnapped as they were playing together with the latter trying to defend the devil as he saved her from her seemingly abusive father due to the fact that he always hits her when he gets angry. As Denji suggested both the girl and the devil running away from her father because of their relationship making Denji reminiscing of his days with Pochita, the Devil then reveals his true, despicable nature as his previous personality was revealed to be nothing but an act.
After revealing his true nature, the devil laughed at Denji's foolishness and attempts to having some fun torturing the innocent girl while controlling Denji's muscles in order to make him witnessing the horror he will inflicts. Fortunately, Denji manages to kill the devil and saved the girl by giving her his suit. In the end, after the innocent girl was saved, both her and her father expressed a gratitude towards Denji with the latter expressing his intent to return Denji's jacket that he lent to the girl that he saved.
Trivia[]
- So far, the Muscle Devil is the only devil from the Chainsaw Man manga to be excluded from the anime adaptation, with this being done assumingly in order to introduce the audience to Aki and Power sooner.
- Despite this, the Muscle Devil appears in the ending animation for Chainsaw Man's third ED Hawatari Nioku Centi.
