Biography[]
Heroes of Might and Magic III: Armageddon's Blade[]
Mutare was an overlord in the caves of Nighon who longed for more power. Her main enemy was an influential druid named Ordwald, whose power gradually weakened. Two young lords, Lord Caomham and Lord Preue won successfully against him, but Mutare wanted the absolute power. His power was further weakened by the fact that four of his cities revolted against him and became neutral, the primary reason being that the garrison was very weak. No one saw Ordwald after several weeks, but Mutare didn't underestimate him because she knew he had great magical power and a huge army, and she didn't want a surprise attack from him. General Maih informed her that the two lords had noticed Mutare's intentions and they begun to prepare against her, but the woman had not yet wanted a war against them. However, she did not want to show signs of weakness and decided that if they dared to approach her areas, she would immediately launch a counterattack. Ordwald was still unseen and Mutare began to think seriously about the possibility that someone had killed him. Meanwhile, she defeated the armies of all three lords and successfully conquered several castles.Meanwhile, she defeated the armies of all three lords and successfully conquered several castles. It was later revealed that Ordwald did not care so much about some of his territories because he was much more important desire. He wanted to get the Vial of Dragon Blood. It is said that the blood of the Dragon Father Dame was in the vial and whoever drinks from the vial, transform into a sentient dragon. Mutare then decided to defeat the two young lord and then get the vial before Ordwald and she turn into a dragon. Mutare left garrisons in the occupied territories of Ordwall and she marched with a smaller team against her two other enemies. Caomham and Preue were not allies, but deployed all their armies against their common enemy. Ordwall and his forces searched in the Deep Caverns, but the druid did not know the location of the vial. However, the two lord also became aware of the vial and they too wanted to get it for themselves. They both flooded the other areas with scouts, but Mutare was now ready to attack. He captured several castles and defeated the armies of the two lords. She then set out to find the vial, but Ordwald was already searching for it with great forces. Once again, Mutare had only a small team, but Ordwald was significantly outnumbered. However, Mutare also found an ally for himself. A warlock, the famous Alamar, was imprisoned on one of the smaller islands in the Deep Caverns. After she freed him, he gave the woman an artifact that provided her with an infinite number of gold. Mutare then defeated Ordwald's forces, but the danger was not over. Three powerful Nighon Lords had also heard of the vial and they too wanted to get it for themselves. Mutare found the the vial, but it was guarded by plenty of dragons. However, she and her army successfully defeated the monsters and obtained the vial. After drinking it turned into a dragon.
Then her only goal was to kill Orwald and her other enemies. However, there are also rumors spreaded that whoever drinks Mutare's blood will turn into a dragon in the same way. The dragon first wanted to make sure of this, but the Sage of Sinkhole Castle couldn't help her much, so he started spreading rumors too. It was rumored by her scouts that whoever drank his blood would get sick, the dragon hoped it would be less of a target. Mutare then set out and after several battles he finally defeated and killed Ordwald and the other enemy lords as well. This victory was very important for two reasons. On the one hand, Mutare could now claim full dominion of Nighon, and on the other hand, now that she had captured the castles of her enemies, the borders of Nighon was open to her to conquer other territories as well.
Heroes Chronicles: Clash of the Dragons[]
Along with the transformation, Mutare also got the ability to control the minds of dragons. Strange things have happened in minor areas of AvLee. More and more of the dragons have disappeared and troglodytes have carried out minor raids against farmers, some of them have been killed. It was the mission of the famous hero, Tarnum, to find out what might have happened to the dragons and what was going on. The hero also had a personal reason because he had a good relationship with the dragons. He found the raiding troglodites in the Unicorn Valley and killed them all. Tarnum not far from here found the Dragontalker, who gave him some important information. She told him that almost all the good dragons had left his cave as if something had forced them, and she had told him about Mutare, the Dragon Queen of Nighon. Tarnum was immediately suspicious when the lady also said that good dragons were flying east toward Nighon. The hero immediately suspected that Mutare, with the help of the dragons would strive for world domination so that Nighon's rule would be complete everywhere and she would be the greatest tyrant. Tarnum could only free the minds of the dragons if he too found a Vial of Dragon Blood and drink from it. However, the vial was on a devil-inhabited land and a fire gate protected the border with a very strong garrison. After defeat some familiars, Tarnum bypassed the garrison with a ship, but also discovered a small island. Harpies attacked the ship, but he defeated the monsters and landed on the volcanic island. Suddenly he met elves. They were told they were part of a scouting expedition in search of the Vial, but they were captured by the demons, but thanks to their captain, Valita, they managed to escape the torture, but she had been in prison for a month. Tarnum freed Valita along with several prisoners and then they left the island together. They then landed in the land of the demons, defeated their smaller army, and captured their castle. They then headed north when they saw a dying, injured green dragon. Both wings were broken, most of its tail was missing, its body was full of deep wounds and everything was full of blood. He told Tarnum that Mutare had forced some of the dragons to fight each other for her amusement and a golden dragon had done it to him. Tarnum promised the dead creature in tears that the evil Mutare would pay for this. They then reached a tower where some elves told them that they had trapped some archdevils and that they had the vial. However, the devils did not surrender and chose to fight, but they all were killed. Tarnum obtained the vial. However, everything went according to the plans of evil so far. After the elves learned what had happened to the dragons, rebellions broke out at the outer borders against the Elf King and the rebels wanted to join the dragons. Tarnum knew he couldn’t free all the golden dragons minds at once, so he came up with a plan with Aspen and Dragontalker. They had to find the ten Dragon Mothers which had a magical link with the gold and green dragons. The Elven King also ordered Tarnum to capture the three renegade towns in the area because he did not want to give Mutare any more benefits. The rebels attacked mostly in raids, sometimes with green dragons, but without success. But while Tarnum fought against them, the forces of Nighon set off, led by an infamous warlock, Jeddite. After Tarnum captured the three cities, he headed to a magical portal, but here the largest group of rebels attacked him. They also had silver pegasus, but in the end they suffered a complete defeat. Tarnum found a secret gateway through the portal that led to the tunnels of the Dungeon Overlords. He fought against Jeddite and other overlords as well, but they were defeated. The warlock fled, but his two castles were captured by the elves. Tarnum found the chained Dragon Mothers in a secret, large cave, but the creatures were guarded by red and black dragons. The hero knew that none of the creatures could die, so he destroyed the evil dragons first. Tarnum then dribbled a drop of blood from the Vial onto the head of each Dragon Mother, freeing them from Mutare's influence. However, with this, Tarnum had already attracted the attention of evil. Mutare deployed the infamous and legendary rust dragons against the hero. Very few survived the clash against these monsters, and the good dragons themselves thought they were extinct, but Mutare somehow found them. In addition, Mutare knew about Tarnum and his mission. His friend, Aspen said there was a spy among them, but Tarnum believed that one of the good dragons was probably talking about it to the evil queen while its mind was under possessed. One of Mutare’s minions, a powerful warlock, Deemer with his smaller army and rust dragons, was about to attack the borders of Avlee.
A few weeks later, Tarnum received bad news. The Elf King lost a lot of his elite units. Red, black and rust dragons attacked the sharpshooters and killed nearly three hundred. Aspen and Tarnum were very suspicious of the attack, which was too well planned, but they had no evidence that they army had a traitor. During another raid, Apsen was injured and Tarnum was furious, but decided to give permission to the elf to investigate about the traitor, but with evidence. Tarnum then gathered his armies and set off with several green dragons to defeat Deemer and his army. However, the warlock launched a counterattack and the news was true, he had several rust dragons. The monsters inflicted heavy losses on Tarnum but eventually he managed to defeat Deemer who retired, then the hero captured his castle and defeated his remaining forces. Deemer's defeat was a big loss for Mutare because she lost at least a dozen rust dragons. However, Mutare changed the target and launched an attack on the borders of Erathia, and the army was again led by Deemer. Tarnum had some minor problems. An Erathian Knight named Sorsha was trapped and wanted to combine her army with the troops of Tarnum, but the towns of Erathia regarded everyone as an enemy. The hero therefore decided to capture the cities to face the forces of Nighon together. However, here Mutare deployed another secret weapons, the crystal dragons. These monsters were not really real dragons, but they were very strong creatures, even a gold dragon could be defeated by a crystal dragon. However, their weak point was that they had no wings, so they could not fly and had no fiery breath. Another great difficulty was that Nighon's garrisons were protected these monster along with the rust dragons, but red and black dragons also appeared in the area. Tarnum captured the cities, then marched with all his forces against Deemer, who was again an unpleasant opponent, and even the demons reappeared on Nighon's side. However, the warlock was defeated again. Tarnum then freed Sorsha and her army, and together they launched an attack. The crystal dragons were indeed very strong monsters, but in the end they managed to destroy the creatures and the heroes captured two castles. However, Tarnum, having seen the power of Mutare's army several times, decided he was also looking for a new ally, namely the faerie dragons. Soon the Elf King also noticed that although Mutare's losses were increasing, her power and army with the dragons were growing much faster. The king acknowledged that these creatures would be important allies and could significantly influence the outcome of the war. Several of Aspen's scouts have disappeared, but the heroes have learned that the area where there are six Faerie Dragon dwellings located. However, Mutare somehow found out the heroes' plan again and took action. A troglodite overlord, Damacon, gathered an army from the forces of Nighon and the demons. His goal was to either take the Faerie Dragon dwellings or prevent the heroes from doing so. However, Aspen gave Tarnum a great catch and evidence that there was a spy among them. They captured a harpy that carried a coded message and in the letter were the strengths and weaknesses of Tarnum's army. It was later revealed that a letter was sent not from the spy but to the spy. The letter was on an arrow with black and green fletching, used only by Valita. When Tarnum called him in to discuss the matter with her, Aspen wanted to tell him that he found the spy but it was too late. The spy was a dwarf, a good friend of Tarnum and the master of supplies, Kurborn. The traitor shot at them, the arrow crossing Asper's chest and hitting Tarnum's shoulder. Tarnum shouted to the other elves to catch the traitor, but he escaped and Aspen died. In the meantime, he was also successful. He defeated the combined demonic and Nighon armies of Damacon, many black dragons and some rust dragons, again captured two castles in an underground cave system, and found the magical portals that took him and his army into the forests of the faerie dragons. He had to fight the creatures at first, but eventually he successfully set the remaining magical dragons to his side. He was then finally able to concentrate on the most important forces of his enemy. Meanwhile, the position of the elves was bad. Mutare's invasion went well and her army was still almost unstoppable, but Tarnum's successes weakened her power at the same time. The hero's plan was for the Elf King and his people hold their positions against the most important forces of the enemy, meanwhile he cut off the head of the snake, behind the enemy lines. However, Mutare then deployed his deadliest weapons, the legendary, rare azure dragons. These monsters were perhaps the strongest dragons in the known world. However, she made a mistake that Tarnum noticed, namely that she has spread her troops and monsters too thin. It is likely that Mutare became too overconfident because she had already fought the war on three fronts. Against Avlee, Erathia and Tarnum. However, the hero had a hard task because Mutare launched unexpected attacks with dragons. On one occasion, some red dragons attacked one of Tarnum's supply wagons and destroyed everything, even the supplies and four days later the azure dragons raze a small elven villaga and killed many of the inhabitants. Tarnum knew that her goal was clearly to intimidate the elves and to cause them as much suffering as possible, thus breaking their fighting spirit. Mutare's plan went well, and another attack happened against two more villages four days later and Tarnum's men became increasingly angry. Tarnum was in trouble, he knew what his men were feeling, but he also knew that his opponent's goal was to separate his forces, so he did everything he could to keep his army together. However, he did not rush the attack because the enemy was still ahead. The forces of evil had four castles and three leaders: two overlords, Gunnar and Lorelei, and one of Tarnum's former enemies, Jeddite. Tarnum suffered enough for the victory, he had to face a lot of dragons, and he also had to defend against the forces of Nighon, but in the end he won. Mutare's losses were enormous; the plenty of dead dragons, her armies, and the four recaptured castles badly affected her plans, forcing her to retreat. AvLee and Erathia then united their forces against her. However, Mutare concentrated all her strength and hatred on Tarnum to kill him.
However, her army was almost exclusively made up of demons and kreegans in addition to dragons. Her commanders consisted of former leaders of the legions of Eeofol, including Fiona, Nymus, Octavia, Xyron, and Zydar. The Dragontalker wrote a letter to Tarnum that by combining several artifacts he could create a powerful artifact, the Power of the Dragonfather with which he have the chanche to defeat the dragon queen. The castles of the forces of evil were in a place that could only be approached by ship, but in such a way that they had to pass through magical whirlpools. Three weeks later, as preparations began, Tarnum received bad news. The traitor Kurborn began attacking the supply lines, and Valita wanted to stop him. The dwarf attacked with a pack of red dragons, the first two waves failed, but the third was successful. Valita was abducted by Kurborn, and some of the elves were killed by the dragons, few survived. The dwarf even sent a letter to Tarnum, infuriating him. A week later, he wrote another letter stating that the girl was fine, but that he and the hero must meet to speak, without an escort or bodyguard. Kurborn wanted to trap Tarnum and was attacked by dozens of minotaurs when he got there. However, Tarnum was counting on the vile trick because he did not come alone, but with his archers who shot every creature. Kurborn survived the arrow rain, thanks to his armor, and then fled with the help of a black dragon. Two weeks later, Kurborn freed Valita from Mutare’s prison and wanted to take her away. However, the dragon queen sent azure dragons after him to fight the horde of dwarf’s minotaurs. The battle was survived by a single azure dragon that was injured, but Tarnum and his team arrived on the scene in time and killed the dragon. He saved Valita, but Kurborn died. The hero then focused his full force and perseverance on the final campaign against Mutare. The demons were defeated and the final, all-encompassing battle finally came. Mutare was one of Tarnum's toughest opponents and with the azure dragons on her side, it looked like she was going to win, but in the end Tarnum succeeded and defeated the evil. In the final battle, the Dragon Queen lost six castles and also her demonic army. Mutare suffered her final and greatest defeat and was wounded, but returned to Nighon. However, there was no more chance for her. After her death, a war broke out between the overlords, but eventually Tarnum took power over Nighon.
