Nabnaleena is a minor antagonist in the 2023 indie-horror game series, Garten of Banban. She is a black-spider mascot that was made by the staff of Banban's Kindergarten to calm down her male counterpart, Nabnab, after the latter grew feral from loneliness.
Biography[]
Past[]
According to Banban, after Nabnab began to grow feral and started to kill several of the staff, the workers of Banban's Kindergarten tried to create Nabnaleena to calm him down. Unfortunately, the incident that caused the other mascots to go feral happened around the same time as the surgery, and Nabnaleena was never finished.
Garten of Banban III[]
After Banban tells the protagonist about Nabnaleena's past, he tells them that they have to complete the surgery for Nabnaleena by injecting Givanium into her. The protagonist will have to do it several times in order to bring her to life. However, during the process, the colored pipes on the side of the room, along with the buttons will occasionally malfunction, and the protagonist will have to switch between the tools that they have to use to continue the surgery. If the protagonist fails to complete the surgery, the lights in the room will turn red, and Nabnaleena will wake up and kill them. Canonically, the protagonist completes the surgery and Nabnaleena comes to life. After the protagonist looks away for moment, they turn to see Nabnaleena had left.
Later, the protagonist uses an audio file to assemble Nabnab and Nabnaleena. The latter two come to the room and seems to be hitting it off. Banban remarks that Nabnab can no longer be lonely anymore, since Nabnaleena is on his side. However, before he could finish, a loud crash is heard, and Nabnab disappears, while Nabnaleena retreats back to Nabnab's room. It is unknown what happens to her after this.
Garten of Banban VI[]
Nabnaleena is seen having been abducted and taken in Sir Dadadoo's army, along with Banbaleena, Kittysaurus, Bittergiggle, Opila Bird, Tarta Bird, and Tamataki & Chamataki. Banban attempts to hold them off while the protagonists heads to a lower level.
Garten of Banban VII[]
A possessed Nabnaleena is seen on the roof attempting to kill the protagonist. However, she falls into an abyss once the protagonist gives them a flaming barrel of Givanium.
After the protagonist allies themselves with Syringeon and covers the missing piece of Queen Bouncelia's scepter with a sample of Jumbo Josh's DNA to lead Sir Dadadoo into a trap, Nabnaleena along with the rest of Sir Dadadoo's army appears. Syringeon and the protagonist watch as Jumbo Josh pummels Sir Dadadoo's army, quite literally throwing Nabnaleena away. After Jumbo Josh finishes punching Sir Dadadoo multiple times, he eats the scepter and the protagonist is once again knocked unconscious. They later wake up in a room alongside Stinger Flynn, and Syringeon says that even though the scepter is destroyed, everyone that was a part of Sir Dadadoo's army has returned to normal, indicating that Nabnaleena has returned to her normal state.
Trivia[]
- Nabnaleena could be thought of being Banbaleena's opposite. While the two have similar designs, both having bows, and having similar mottos, they have several differences.
- Banbaleena's bow is pink, while Nabnaleena's is green.
- Banbaleena's color is white, while Nabnaleena's the opposite of that, being black.
- Nabnaleena's name is somewhat like Banbaleena's name but backwards, except for the "aleena" part.
- It is implied that Nabnaleena is made with the similar genome of that to Nabnab's.
- Many fans mistook Nabnaleena being the one that knocked out Nabnab, but it could be possible that either Jumbo Josh or Stinger Flynn may had done so.
- Strangely enough, there was a fanmade character with the same name as Nabnaleena whiched looked very similar to her, that was made prior to the announcement of Garten of Banban III. It is unknown whether the in-game Nabnaleena was intentionally based off this character.
- The unused Nabnab model that is seen out-of-bounds in Garten of Banban II was later re-used for Nabnaleena's design.
