Soon you will get tired, Alex. You will drown. Or perhaps it will be fast and you will drift into the embrace of friend. You see him… no? It is an embrace to be desired. It will kill you. The pain, I think will be beyond the imagination of a child. It is a pity, Alex Rider, that MI6 chose to send you here. They will not be seeing you again.
~ Nadia to Alex Rider after he enters the water tank with the Portuguese Man-o'-War.

Nadia Vole is a supporting antagonist in the Alex Rider children's spy thriller franchise. She appears only in the first novel, Stormbreaker.

She is the a minion of Herod Sayle, a technology tycoon. In the film, her occupation is expanded to be a public and media affairs manager.

In the 2006 film, she is portrayed by Missi Pyle, who also portrayed Cythonna in Teen Titans Go! & DC Super Hero Girls: Mayhem in the Multiverse, Ashley Sanderson in Bringing Down the House, Shelly Stoker in My Name Is Earl, Vera Murchins in Home Alone 4, Gail Van Ravensway in A Cinderella Story: Once Upon A Song, Sally Marnes in Traffik and the merch owner in Rizzoli & Isles.

Personality[]

Nadia has a sadistic and violent disposition. When she meets Alex, she acts caringly toward him. However, this is revealed to be a guise to ensure Alex felt comfortable and had no suspicion of Sayle's villainy.

Physical appearance[]

In the books, Nadia is described as having a moon-shaped face, broad shoulders and blonde hair. She also wore wire-framed spectacles and yellow lipstick, which are absent traits in the film.

Biography[]

Nadia is introduced after Alex arrives at Herod Sayle's estate. She appears to be responsible for his care and wellbeing, whilst also providing the illusion the company is legitimate and well-intended. When Alex is caught having learned of Sayle's true intentions to create a superweapon against British children, she feigns support to Alex, claiming she is a good person.

In the film, Nadia seeks to assassinate Jack's caregiver, Jack Starbright. They have a lengthy fight which results in Nadia fleeing after being attacked with a dried pufferfish.

However, this is revealed to be yet another lie as she encourages Alex to climb into a water tank which contains Sayle's deadly Portuguese Man-o'-War jellyfish. Alex is able to destroy the water tank which releases the jellyfish. It lands on Nadia, which stings her to death.
