Music is essential for a nice tea time!
~ Nagisa Kirifuji.

Nagisa Kirifuji is a major antagonist turned supporting character in the 2021 roleplay RPG game Blue Archive, serving as the main antagonist of the first half of the Third Volume of the Main Story, the Treaty of Eden. She is one of the three student council presidents of the Tea Party, the student council of Trinity General School.

She is voiced by Saori Hayami.

Personality[]

Under most circumstances, Nagisa proves to be quite the composed girl she sets out to be. The school itself bases itself around religion and ethics, so it's only normal for her as one of the student council president to set herself as an example. Like most people however, she has a limit to her patience, and once it's broken, she can be quite ruthless, especially towards the second student council president, Mika Misono, who is also her childhood friend.

The two share quite the opposing personalities. Nagisa overthinks about important matters a lot, even being considered a cynical paranoid at times due to how much she overthinks things, which causes problems for others whereas Mika doesn't think much. Nagisa even prepared numerous safehouses to hide in whenever she panics.

Her paranoia is what led her to be deemed as a villain as she refuses to ask others for help regarding the situations and only proceeds to follow her intuition. In the story, Nagisa received information that a traitor had been working to stop the signing of the Treaty of Eden, a treaty that would cease the long-lasting hatred between Trinity and Gehenna Academy, Trinity's enemy. With the help of Sensei of Schale, the main protagonist of Blue Archive, Nagisa created a club named Make-Up Work Club which at first sight seems like a club to help failing students but in reality aims to quickly expel students that Nagisa deemed suspicious, even if they're actually innocent.

The idea was that the club would have three chances to partake in a Special Academic Evaluation Exam and gain a passing score. If any one of them failed, the whole club would be given a week to prepare for their next chance, and if they fail all three chances, they would be expelled. None of the students of the club, or even Sensei, knew of this besides Hifumi Ajitani who actually had connections with Nagisa. When Hifumi told the club and Sensei about this, Sensei confronted Nagisa who then revealed her true intentions. Sensei decided to want to protect the club by helping them pass the exams, and Nagisa was furious about this, leading to her decision to alter various factors of the exam to ensure the club's failure.

It was revealed later on that Azusa Shirasu, one of the Make-Up Work Club members, was actually the traitor Nagisa's been looking for, but she didn't actually want to do this seeing how much danger she's put her friends into. Azusa was actually a student from Arius Satellite School, a school that broke off of Trinity. Of course, the club wanted to help Azusa, and one particular member stood out the most. Hanako Urawa, the most intelligent student in Trinity who was found out to be purposely declining in academic performance, knew of Nagisa's safehouses and devised a plan to stop Nagisa and the incoming attacks of Arius.

As it turns out, there was actually someone else behind the attacks of Arius. It was actually Mika Misono, Nagisa's childhood friend and fellow Tea Party president. When Nagisa realized the truth, she regretted involving the Make-Up Work Club, especially when the true traitor is actually the person who's closest to her. She also let the Make-Up Work Club take their exam normally, and the club was able to pass it.

Trivia[]

  • The Trinity General School is supposed to resemble Britain, hence the common use of tea, sweets, and such in parts of the story regarding Trinity. Coincidentally however, Nagisa's birthday happens to be July 4th, the same date as the American Independence Day.
  • Unlike Seia, who is clearly the Archangel Gabriel, and Mika, who is clearly the Archangel Michael, Nagisa's mystery is still unknown, but she is presumed to be Uriel or Raphael. However, Raphael is presumed to be her favorite friend, Hifumi Ajitani, and she is presumed to be Uriel.
