Namiayashi is the minor antagonist of Samurai Sentai Shinkenger, appearing in Episode 4 as the primary antagonist.
He was a manipulative two-toned poogie and seaweeds themed Ayakashi at the service of Gedoshu and under the command of Doukoku Chimatsuri and Shitari of the Bones. He was armed with the Aodake Dankatsusō (青竹断割槍 Green Bamboo Split Spear). He was laid back and disturbing in personality and was a skilled liar and trickster. He was one of the most devious and cruel Ayakashi and was an expert in tricking the innocent people and making them cry. This deceitful and egotistical Ayakashi made fake deals with people by promising them his help in exchange for their most valuable things. Of course, Namiayashi lied to people in order to break their hearts and make them suffer.
He was sent to the Surface Realm by his masters Doukoku and Shitari and was tasked by them to increase the level of Sanzu River with human suffering and despair. Namiayashi made a deal with a boy named Ryota and made a fake deal with a kid, by promising Ryota return his grandfather in exchange for refusing from his hobby, baseball. Ayakashi lied to Ryota and wanted to trick the kid in order to make him suffer and break his heart. Eventually this plan of Namiayashi brought the attention of Shinkengers, who fought and stopped him.
He was voiced by Koji Tobe, who previously voiced Bucter in Seijuu Sentai Gingaman, Hellgerus and Ganemuuja in Kyukyu Sentai GoGoFive, Gien in Mirai Sentai Timeranger, Trinoid 6: Zakurobacuum in Bakuryu Sentai Abaranger, Rikomoian Kevakia in Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger and later voiced Needleloid in Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters and Loupe Shadow in Ressha Sentai ToQger.
Biography[]
Namiayashi first appeared in the episode when he swam in Sanzu River and arrived at Rokumon Junk, which was the base of his masters Gedoshu leaders. Namiayashi met Doukoku and Shitari and greeted his superiors. He pledged his loyalty to them and requested them to send him to the Human Realm and allow him do his favorite hobby, making people cry and suffer. Lord Doukoku and Shitari agreed and Shitari sent Namiayashi to the Human Realm and tasked Ayakashi to increase the level of Sanzu River with humans's suffering and despair by tormenting and scaring the people of Tokyo. Shitari sent his underling to raise the levels of Sanzu River and allowed Namiayashi to do in the Human World what Namiayashi loved best, making people cry.
Namiayashi arrived to the Tokyo and appeared before the boy named Ryota. Ryota was a baseball player and leaguer. At first Ryota was scared of the demonic beast, but then Namiayashi calmed him down and made a fake deal with the kid. Namiayashi asked Ryota what the boy desired the most and Ryota told the demon that he desired the most to see his grandfather again. Namiayashi lied to Ryota and promised the boy, that he would return his grandfather but in exchange Ryota had to refuse from his main hobby, baseball. Ryonnosuke and Mako saw this scene and confronted the Ayakashi, but Namiayashi managed to flee and teleported away. The Rangers tried to talk to Ryota and asked him what did the demon tell him, but Ryota refused to tell the Shinkengers about his deal with Ayakashi.
ShinkenBlue and ShinkenPink later followed the young boy to Ryota's house and tried to discover his secret. However, Ryonnosuke told Mako about hiss personal regret of his life-long dream that he had been keeping to himself before Mako comforted him, later giving him poorly made muffler and meal as they spend the night at the stake out.
The next day, the two Shinkengers followed Ryota and saw how he disposed of his baseball stuff and called Namiayashi. Ryota told Namiayashi that he performed his end o the deal, hurting himself so he cannot play baseball in order to get his grandfather back. Ryota told Ayakashi that it was now his turn to keep his end of the deal, but, however, Namiayashi revealed it to be a lie as part of his plan to make the boy cry to overflow the Sanzu River. Ryonnosuke and Mako saw it and fought the demon, vowing to get revenge on him for hurting Ryota. The other Shinkengers arrived and Namiayashi summoned Nanashi to fight the heroes. While the others fought and defeated Nanashi, ShinkenBlue and ShinkenPink fought the monster and destroyed him with their combined attack.
Namiayashi revived and enlarged himself and the Rangers summoned their mechas to fight the villain. After the Ryu and the Kame Origami get a shot at Ayakashi, the Rangers formed their ShinkenOh Robo and finished the evil Ayakashi off.
