Biography[]
Naomi was the chief of FOXHOUND's medical staff prior to the Shadow Moses Incident, and a member of Solid Snake's support team during that mission.
Naomi had an adoptive brother, Frank Jeager alias Gray Fox, who was killed by Solid Snake in Zanzibar Land. After this event, she wants vengeance. During Snake's mission, Naomi called him and she explaining tom him her past, FOXDIE's true role and why she had wanted to kill him. However, she was subdued by one of Ames' men as well as Campbell before she could finish.
After realizing that Snake was not the merciless killer she had thought him to be, Naomi eventually forgave him for Frank's situation, following his and Snake's cooperation in destroying Metal Gear REX. In that battle, It was discovered that Gray Fox was the murderer of Naomi's parents, Gray Fox tells him to report the truth to Naomi, so Gray Fox faces the Metal Gear REX, dying with honor.
After Snake defeated Liquid, Snake told her that Frank's actions saved him, her, and the world, which caused Naomi to be emotional. Unaware of when FOXDIE would kill him, Snake then asked Naomi how much time he had left. She told him to live his life to the fullest until it did.
Several years later, Naomi was part of Revolver Ocelot's forces as he prepared to take down Zero and his Patriot AIs once and for all. Using nanomachines and hypnotherapy to turn himself into Liquid Ocelot, he appeared to be getting ready to launch an insurrection against the United States and United Nations using Outer Heaven, a mother company consisting of the five largest Private Military Companies (PMCs) in the world that were left in his possession. It was also around this time he gained the support of Vamp, and rebuilt the destroyed GW AI that was presumed eliminated during the Big Shell Incident, using it as a trojan to get into the Patriots' AI network undetected. Liquid also had a veritable army of Haven Troopers at his disposal, all of them female and using nanomachines to suppress their emotions so they become elite merciless killing machines. He also gained the addition of the Beauty and the Beast Unit, four women suffering massive PTSD that believed they had to become war machines themselves to escape their nightmares, being lied to by Ocelot that killing Solid Snake would finally allow them peace of mind from their trauma.
Naomi joins Liquid as he travels to the Middle East with the Praying Mantis PMC under his command to attempt his first takeover of the Sons of the Patriots (SOP) System using Liquid Snake's DNA. Naomi watches as the imperfect match to Big Boss' genetic makeup causes the Praying Mantis troopers to suffer massive emotional overload, including throwing up, attacking each other, and even suffering cardiac arrest with fatal heart attacks. Ocelot is only impressed by the results, but Naomi, disgusted by what she sees, storms off in a huff, later finding Solid Snake among the victims, leaving him a syringe she had injected herself with moments before dropping it in front of him. Telling him if he will not be a pawn to fate, then go and fulfill his destiny, she then departs with Liquid, escorted away by Gekko.
She later reappears in South America, working in a lab supervised by another of Ocelot's PMCs in Pieurve Armament. After Snake successfully infiltrates the lab to see her, she explains much of what Snake saw back in the Middle East, and then asks for him to undress so she can run some tests on him. Upon seeing his aged condition because of the effects of being a clone of Big Boss, she is brought to tears before recovering and running the tests on him. She later reveals that Snake has about half a year left to live before dying of old age, but then reveals that the FOXDIE she injected him with back at Shadow Moses when blinded by her revenge for Gray Fox has begun to mutate. In about three months, it will mutate into a pathological threat to the general public, making Snake a walking doomsday device. Snake suggests killing himself to stop FOXDIE, and while Naomi agrees with that, she then reveals a new strain of FOXDIE in Snake's body, causing Snake to realize it was injected into him by Drebin 893 back in the Middle East. After Naomi hands him a box of syringes to use if he starts feeling the effects of SOP on himself, she further attempts to explain Ocelot's endgame, dubbing it "Guns of the Patriots", before she is subdued by a headache. Pieurve Armament troopers enter the lab, stun Snake with a flashbang, grab Naomi, and evac her from the building, while Haven Troopers that were with them keep Snake pinned in the lab to face both them and Laughing Octopus, buying the PMCs time to get Naomi to the heliport where Vamp was waiting.
By the time Snake reaches the heliport himself, Naomi is being ushered into the copter by Vamp, but when Snake takes a headshot at Vamp, alerting the PMCs, Vamp signals the start of the second attempt to hack SOP using Solid Snake's DNA, but again, the imperfect match to Big Boss' genetic code causes the Pieurve Armament troopers to suffer similar emotional overloads as their Praying Mantis counterparts, leading to them becoming mindless zombies that seem to have lost all cognitive and intelligent behavior. Naomi escapes the copter when Drebin arrives in his Stryker ICV for her to jump down onto, before grabbing Snake and making their escape back into town. After Gekko pursuing them cause Drebin to topple his Stryker over and crash it, Naomi and Snake are saved by Raiden, who is able to easily draw the attention of the Gekko while Naomi and Snake flee to rendezvous with Otacon, who was arriving in his own copter to pick them up. Once safely aboard just as Gekko catch up to them, they head back to Raiden's location, to find he had been subdued by the Gekko as Vamp arrives to confront him since their last encounter. Luckily, Snake uses a PSG-1 sniper rifle to free one of Raiden's arms, allowing him to grab his sword, free the other one, and then take out the Gekko that had subdued him before going after Vamp and his own Gekko backup. In the end, Raiden delivers several mortal stab wounds to Vamp, but while Vamp appears to collapse and die afterwards, more Gekko show up. Raiden uses one to reach Otacon's copter to escape, but once aboard, Naomi is shocked to find he's a Cyborg Ninja, just like Gray Fox.
After joining Snake and Otacon on the Nomad, Naomi soon befriends Sunny, helping her with cooking eggs properly, and secretly working with Sunny on the FOXALIVE virus to stop Major Zero's plans for the world's civilian population planned by the Patriot AIs. They also look for someone who can help save Raiden as if he doesn't get dialysis for his artificial white blood, he'll slip into autotoxemia and die from blood poisoning. Raiden gives them the name of Dr. Madnar to help him as Madnar will have the dialysis equipment Raiden needs, and they also learn that Ocelot is heading to Eastern Europe to search out Big Boss' body, currently in the possession of Big Mama and her Paradise Lost Army, the local resistance, but Ocelot already has his Raven Sword troopers heading to the area to lock it down and begin searching for them. During the night, Naomi has a personal moment with Otacon, learning about his sister Emma and her death at Vamp's hands, hence his hatred of Vamp. Their conversation ends with her pulling Otacon into the stored copter for a little alone time with him after he offered her to sleep in there for the night as the Nomad headed to Europe.
Once there, Naomi and Sunny head to Dr. Madnar to get the equipment for Raiden, but after returning to the Nomad, Naomi secretly departs to return to Ocelot, since he could not finish his plans without her. When Otacon discovers this, he contacts Snake, who had already met up with Big Mama, AKA EVA, and Snake figures she must have gone back because Ocelot can't finish his insurrection without her. After finding that the Paradise Lost Army's hideout in the cathedral was compromised by Dwarf Gekko/Scarabs, Snake, EVA, and the "children", make their escape, using decoys to try and draw off Ocelot's forces of Raven Sword PMC troopers, Haven Troopers, Gekko, and even Raging Raven.
In the end, their efforts are for naught. By the time Snake helps a wounded EVA to the Volta River to rendezvous with their getaway boat, Ocelot, Vamp, and Naomi are waiting for them, with the boat sunk, and the pyx of Big Boss in Ocelot's possession. Once Ocelot reveals his plans to take out the Patriot core AI in JD so GW will take over and assume command of TJ, TR, and AL, Ocelot attempts to depart on his gunboat, but is surrounded by a joint United States Army-Marine Corps task force lead by Meryl Silverburgh and her Rat Patrol Team 01. Right when they are about to open fire on him, Ocelot activates his successful takeover of SOP and disables their weapons, vehicles, and even their nanomachines, causing the U.S. forces to suffer emotional breakdowns themselves, and leave them vulnerable to Ocelot's unaffected Haven Troopers, who cut them to ribbons with their FN P90 submachine guns, as Naomi looks on in horror at what she's unleashed, soon closing her eyes, unable to bear watching the carnage any further until the Haven Troopers finally cease fire. Having proved he's in control of SOP now, Ocelot blasts Rat Patrol's PT boat with the cannons on his own gunboat, then as he drifts past, gives them back Big Boss' body, before shooting it in the head to ensure its destruction, causing Snake to be burned on the side of his face from the resulting explosion.
Following what happened on the Volta, Naomi discusses the next move for her, Vamp, and Ocelot. The plan being to head to Shadow Moses, recover an non-ID-tagged nuclear warhead from the storage facility there, along with Metal Gear REX's railgun, and use the railgun and nuke to take out JD. During their conversation, Naomi accidentally backs into the hidden Metal Gear Mk. II that Otacon stowed away on their gunboat to eavesdrop on them, causing its cloak to fail, exposing it, leading to Vamp grabbing it and promptly destroying it. Naomi is later seen on the security monitors of Shadow Moses that Otacon hacks from his old workplace heading to REX's hangar with Vamp. By the time Snake and the Metal Gear Mk. III reach REX, the railgun is already gone from REX's body. Worse, Vamp appears, and is joined by Naomi, who appears to be now romantically attracted to him, as Vamp calls her his "Queen", and in accordance with her wishes, Vamp has called Suicide Gekko to take out Snake and make Shadow Moses his grave. As Snake has Otacon work to get REX back up and running as quickly as he can, Naomi suavely tells Vamp that she'll leave things to him for now before he leaps down to face Snake in combat.
Naomi later reappears after Raiden, now fully recovered, deals several mortal wounds to Vamp after Snake rendered him vulnerable with nanomachine suppressant to neutralize his rapid healing ability from them, but is now back to her normal self, confessing the truth to how Vamp kept surviving mortal injuries thanks to his nanomachines, but now with his current condition, spasming in pain from the nanomachines trying to heal him again, Vamp pleads to Naomi to help him, but Naomi provides a syringe full of nanomachine suppressant to give to Vamp, offering it to Otacon through the Mk. III, not to seek revenge on Vamp for Emma, but to end Vamp's suffering. While Otacon contemplates what to do, Vamp grabs the syringe and injects himself anyway. As Vamp lets off one final scream before he finally dies and collapses lifeless in Naomi's arms, Naomi breaks down, asking for forgiveness, but Otacon is unmoved. Soon, when the hangar shakes as more Suicide Gekko attempt to break in, Naomi takes the syringe and, without anyone seeing it, injects herself with the suppressant, when Snake, Raiden, and Otacon discover this, Naomi confesses that she shouldn't even be alive right now, as she has terminal cancer. Her own nanomachines were keeping it at bay, but they've done all they can to stem it from spreading. Despite attempts by Otacon to stop her with the Mk. III, Naomi injects herself again, and again, and as her body begins to fail her, she pleads for Snake, Otacon, and Raiden to escape while they still have the chance. Otacon is initially against it as he breaks down sobbing, asking why the women in his life have to die on him, but is finally convinced to start up REX so Snake can use the Metal Gear to get himself, Raiden, and the Mk. III out before the Suicide Gekko blow up the whole facility. As Naomi watches REX prepare to flee, she offers her final words to them before finally passing away, with her body either being buried or destroyed when the Suicide Gekko raze Shadow Moses to the ground. She dies in the very same place Gray Fox died at nine years earlier.
Even after her death, her legacy lives on as Sunny finishes the final touches on the FOXALIVE virus, and when it is uploaded into GW on Ocelot's Arsenal Gear, Outer Haven, it also seeks out and destroys JD, TJ, TR, and AL as well, wiping out the entire Patriot AI network. A pre-recorded message of Naomi built into the virus soon plays afterwards, revealing the Patriots' plans for the civilian population, and Naomi's obligation to stop them. Thanks to FOXALIVE, while the Patriot AIs have been destroyed, the virus also ensured the survival of modern civilization as well, essentially killing the brain, but leaving the brain stem intact. Thus, the war economy comes to an end, and the world can finally know peace, all thanks to Naomi.
Big Boss later reveals to Snake of Naomi's part regarding taking down Zero and stopping the AIs from taking over the civilian population as she had been working with him, EVA, and Ocelot the whole time to end the threat of the Patriots for good.
