Naraka King Desnarak VIII is the Earthworm-themed original Emperor of the Bugnarak Empire and one of the two main antagonists of the first arc of Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger alongside Rcules Husty. He is the relative and (former) archenemy of Jeramie Brasieri.
He is voiced by Tomoyuki Shimura who also voiced Saber Shadow in Ressha Sentai ToQger and Zonic Lee in Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger. He voiced Starservant in My Hero Academia and Wolfrun in Smile Precure, the latter and Desnarak having similar motives.

Past[]
Emperor Desnarak's origins are mostly unknown but the Bagnarak originated from another planet that was destroyed by Dagded Dujardin through Glodi Leucodium. The surviving Bagnarak are forced to leave their dead world to settle on Tikyuu; eating Shugod Souls to become insectoid beings while losing their memories and original selves in the process. 2000 years prior to the series, they were ruled by Desnarak VIII; once an honourable individual with a good heart who ruled in peaceful co-existence with humanity. However, Dagded left Kamejim and Glodi to continue sowing discontent and remove any obstacles which led to the former sowing a prophecy about the Bagnarak bringing doom 2000 years ago. As a result, humanity began discriminating against them and hunting them down until the Bugnarak Empire declared war on Earth despite it under the guidance of a protective robot-like being named King-Ohger. They came very close to succeeding in their conquest due to their special powers but, before they could claim victory however, five humans were given special powers by King-Ohger that allowed them to beat back the Bugnarak Empire and seal them deep below the surface of the Earth. However, there was a prophecy that they would return in 2000 years to seek their revenge.
Over those 2000 years, they managed to capture thousands of Shuugods and consume their energy; causing them to mutate from a more human-like appearance into their current far more monstrous appearances. Desnarak mutated into the most powerful of the Bagnarak and killed his rivals to be crowned emperor. Jeramie Brasieri, the son of a forsaken human king and a member of Bugnarak royalty, devised a prophecy about the humans' guardian deity King-Ohger defeating the Bagnarak when they resurface to have their revenge. Despite Jeramie's intent to unite his parents' people, his prophecy only added more fuel with both sides discriminating the other. This ultimately motivated Desnarak to encourage his people to be what the humans saw them and engage in suicidal attacks on the kingdoms.
King-Ohger[]
As prophesied, the seal over the Earth Empire Bugnarak lifts in 2023 exactly two thousand years to the day that they were sealed away and they resume their plans to conquer the Earth as well as get revenge for their defeat long ago. By this time, the five heroes that originally sealed them away have created five separate tribes so the Bugnarak focus their attacks on these to prevent potential resistance and begin with Shugoddam. Led by Emperor Desnarak himself, an army of Kaijim and Sanagim attack and devastate the kingdom and are immensely successful in wrecking the kingdom. They then attack N'Kosopa where they plan to kill all humans there. Desnarak then reveals himself and Prime Minister Kamejim when Gira Hastie and Yanma kill a deployment and the King reveals that he wants to kidnap the Shugods before he and Kamejim leave to give them time to surrender the Shugods.
Eventually, after the re-emergence of Desnarak's relative Jeramie Brasieri as the sixth King-Ohger, the Bagnarak begins to fragment and distrust the Emperor as he begins to show vulnerability and his less ruthless side, especially to his companion, Tarantula Abyss. Even the Sanagim attempt to take the throne which Desnarak represses but he is later defeated in battle by Jeramie. Upon losing, Gira / Kuwagata Ohger promptly apologized for the war that Humanity had caused to the Bugnarak Ruler, by kneeling to the ground. This act allows Desnarak to gain closure for Bugnarak army past humiliation. However, before Desnarak could act further, Kamejim reveals himself to be the real mastermind of the Bugnarak/Human war and murders Desnarak once he's too weak to keep fighting; in his final moments he hands over the Bugnarak's throne to Jeramie, entrusting him with his people's future before passing.
Two years after the true enemy force of both Bagnarak and humanity, Uchu reveals themselves the remaining Bagnarak eventually join humanity to fight back against their threat. Overtime, the King-Ohgers manage to dispose of the majority of the Jesters barring Kamejim who joins Dugded in his final assault on Tikyuu, as Kamejim engages the Ohsama Sentai on ground level, Desnarak is resurrected from Hakabaka in time to aid a now redeemed Rcules and their true allies. Once Desnarak successfully defeat Kamejim, and left his once former subordinate in his death throes, Desnarak dragged him back to Hakabaka, while proclaiming that Kamejim will be slaughtered forever in the land of the dead. However, in a last act of kindness, Desnarak forbade Tarantula Abyss to follow them, citing that it's not the time for the Shugod to pass away.
Personality[]
Naraka King Desnarak VIII was a genocidal and vengeful merciless intent on destroying the modern world and conquering Earth for his own glory. He would not stop at any cost to try and kill his enemies, even if it means killing his own allies. Regardless of his cruelty, he was once was a noble person with selfless goals until the legend emerged and he declared war. Even up until the end, he showed respect for Jeramie and died with honour.
He also showed a great care to his pet/companion, the Shugod Tarantula Abyss. Even after the said Shugod offered its soul to quell Desnarak anger, the latter simply chases it away. Desnarak also forbade Tarantula Abyss to follow him to Hakabaka during the final battle with Uchu, as Desnarak wanted Tarantula Abyss to live on.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Longevity: Desnarak VIII lived for 2000 years at least with no negative or notable effects on his health and dexterity.
- Shadow Tentacles: Desnarak could project red tentacles from behind his back which were powerful enough to leave deep craters in the ground when thrust or kill Sanajim with one hit.
- Tentacle Growth: Desnarak was also able to grow his tentacles to grow to massive size so they would be strong enough to destroy entire buildings. When combined with Tarantula Abyss, it's power is enough to sent Kamejim into the verge of Death.
- Magmaportation: Desnarak could teleport to any location at will in spurts of black-orange magma.
- Arm Morphing: Desnarak could morph and alter his arm as seen when he turned it into a blade for his final battle.
