„
~ Narrator expressing their true colors at the beginning of Act III.
His first appearance was recorded in the Halloween 2020 Event; rather being an antagonist he was a guide to the player; in his 2nd debut he is the narrator of all acts and the final boss.
Narrator is a manipulative villain due to it being able to deceive the player, only showing its true colors when you destroy the things it had worked for. However, it is strange that it did not get mad at the player for killing all of its actors, which can lead to the thought that it let you kill them. In Act I, at the very start, it calls it's own actors "disposable" which proves that had done involuntary manslaughter, which is able to foreshadow its villainous side. Before its villainous side is shown, it is very outgoing and charming, and it has excellent presentation skills. Afterward, it becomes very crazy and psychopathic and does not rest until you are dead, but it still manages to show some of its outgoing personality even when it is insane. It also wants to keep up its good reputation, so it doesn't let the players escape the theater so they could tell the world about its failure to kill the player.
During Trick Or Threat Town, it does not show any of this, and it instead is quite. It expresses little to no emotion and is instead trying to be more informal rather than presenting. Even so, during this phase, it is shown to be on the player's side.
Appearance[]
The Narrator is a dark semi-transparent figure, who doesn't have a feminine, nor a masculine body type. It wears a maroon top hat with golden bearings around it, and has a pink rose, yellow, and pink feather on it. It wears a part white and black mask. The white side of the mask has a red up-arrow for an eye, and the black side, it has a white smile and a white plus-sign-like eye. It wears a maroon suit, with a red undershirt with gold buttons. On its shirt is a large pink bow tie with a golden star in the middle of it, and to the right of it are two pink roses, one lower and smaller than the other. Its suit has a large neck collar, with a golden outline. Its suit has an opening down the middle that shows the red undershirt, and each side of the suit has a golden half-triangle embedded into it. On each sleeve of the suit is a pink stripe that goes all the way down to the cuff, where it is golden. On each hand is a white glove, and in its right hand, it holds a microphone but it'll also sometimes hold a maroon cane. On the back of its shirt, near the waste, are lapels.
In its Trick Or Threat Town appearance, it is a dark hooded figure with large pink glowing eyes. Sometimes, the pink eyes will go from normal to angry or upset.
Biography[]
The Narrator made their first appearance during the Halloween 2020 Event in Trick Or Threat Town. It had worked behind the scenes of the event to keep everything in order. After the event ended, it purchased a theater to start telling its stories about the past and possibly some of it's own.
Although unclear what really happened in Lunar Overture; most is purely speculation.
T.D.S would arrive at the Lunar Theater most likely from a God Cube fragment that was detected within or they were purely invited; their task is to defend the "God Cube" from the Actors; it is unsure if it is a replica of the God Cube or rather a prop that came to life, since the real God Cube exploded way back in the medieval times as suggested by Umbra's Story; this lead to him most likely being corrupted by it.
The roof would explode; his budget would run tight, leading him to become infuriated by T.D.S leading him to pull an all-out attack, his Right Hand and Left Hand would become the two final bosses.
It is unknown what happened after; since Act 3 was rushed and no story bits were elaborated upon.

Trivia[]
The Narrator had an alternate design when A Dark Tale was first released. It was most likely used as a placeholder or the developers had changed their mind about how the Narrator should look.
The Narrator has a similarly themed face to Monokuma, but this is most likely unintentional.
Due to development issues, it is never explained why the Narrator had never gotten mad at the player for destroying its stuff in Acts I and II. It also never fully explains the change from The Umbra's human form and her final form. It also doesn't explain Penumbras's backstory, despite his importance to The Umbra's backstory.
The Narrator was the first animated narrator as it used animations instead of just being a still image.
The Narrator was the first narrator to have multiple lines for when the player loses. This is only in Trick Or Threat Town.
Upon triumphing The Great Finale, also known as Act III, the first 50,000 people can earn their hat as a reward called Narrator's Top Hat.
Due to the model being slightly glitched, its idle animation has it holding both its microphone and its cane in the same hand at the same time.
