Nathan is a major antagonist of the action role-playing game Genshin Impact. He is a Fatui agent that the director of the aforementioned organization Pierro sent to infiltrate the Watatsumi Army, enabling the supply of Delusions which led to the deaths of some of their members, including Teppei. Nathan serves as a minor antagonist in the Clean House World Quest and is an overarching antagonist of Chapter III of the Archon Quests.
Biography[]
Nathan was an agent that Pierro, the director of the Fatui, sent to infiltrate the Watatsumi Army base on Yashiori Island pretending to be a Sangonomiya Samurai, using a cover story saying that he joined them due to hailing from Mondstadt and did not agree with the Shogun's regime. He joined forces with several Orobashi fanatics and ordered them to destroy the Narukami Pillars intent on escalating the war, artificially prolonging it all while pretending to do it for the "honor of their god," unsealing the Tatarigami created by the death of the Watatsumi Islanders' deity Orobashi, leading to the inhabitants suffering from illness or even being driven insane in addition to enveloping the island in a huge rainstorm, until the Traveler fixed the Pillars and returns the climate to normal.
During the Archon Quests, Nathan was responsible for securing the supply of Delusions to the Watatsumi resistance to sabotage their efforts in their war against the Shogunate, through the Delusion Factory overseen by 6th Harbinger Scaramouche. He and several Fatui agents pretend to be benefactors for the rebels, to deceive Sangonomiya Kokomi into accepting the offers as part of her "strategy", sneaking Delusions into the army's defenses to weaken them. One of them was given to an arrogant soldier named Teppei, leading to him aging into a slow and painful death, which in the end, had led to Gorou declaring the seizure of all Delusions within the resistance. The Traveler receives a notice from Gorou about the location of the factory at a remote cavern south of Tatarasuna, and Scaramouche threatens to kill the Traveler with the Tatarigami for discovering his plans, blackmailing them for the Electro Gnosis, only for Miko to give him the Gnosis to spare their life.
After the Fatui conspiracy was uncovered, the Delusion factory was investigated after the Traveler's scuffle at the factory and Nathan was revealed to be a double agent for the Fatui. He attempted to flee Inazuma, only to be recaptured by the resistance, tried and imprisoned for his war crimes.
