Detective Nathaniel Kim, mostly shortly known as Nathaniel Kim, is one of the minor antagonists of The Mentalist TV-show. He is actually the first criminal exposed by Patrick Jane. He was played by Ian Anthony Dale.

Biography

Teresa Lisbon and her team are called to investigate another murder. The son of a federal judge has been killed. At the same time, Patrick Jane comes to the CBI. He is the father and husband of two of Red John's victims. He asks for help because he wants to find and kill the killer of his family. In exchange, he volunteers to help investigate the murder of the son of a federal judge. He asks to gather all the defendants in the case. He finds out that the killer was Detective Nathaniel Kim. The fact is that once the son of a federal judge fatally hit a man on the road. His father got him off the hook and bribed Nathaniel. However, soon the judge's son called Nathaniel and said that he had hit someone again. Nathaniel, tired of always covering for the rich kid, decided to kill him. Later, it turned out that the judge's son hit not a person, but a deer. It was this criminal case that became the reason that Patrick started working in the CBI.
