The rotten cancer of the Fascist Reich ravages Europe like a plague. Their relentless drive into our motherland steals the lives of men, women, and children alike. The arrogance of their leaders is matched only by the brutality of their soldiers. These are the darkest days of the Nazi occupation of Stalingrad.
~ Viktor Reznov describing the Nazis.

The Nazi Party are the main antagonists of the Call of Duty franchise.

Even though they don't appear in every game of the franchise, they're still the most prevalent and reoccurring out of all its antagonistic forces.

In the 20th century, the Nazi Party wanted to expand their control over the entire world, and eliminate all non-Aryan Germans. The Nazis mostly appear in the World War II era video games as the main antagonists, and go against the Soviet Armed Forces, United States Military, British Army, and other Western Allies.

History[]

Lieutenant Commander Schmidt was a Nazi administrative official in the Kriegsmarine, and is stationed on the battleship Tirpitz. Captain Price and SAS Commandos assassinate him, and continue on their mission to destroy the battleship

Call of Duty 2[]

World at War[]

Our grip tightens around the black heart of Berlin. The Führer demands all to shed their last drop of blood in it's defense. The old, the young, the weak. If they stand for Germany, they die for Germany. Building by building. Room by room. One rat at a time.
~ Viktor Reznov on the Nazis.

In Call of Duty: World at War, the German military are the main antagonist in the Soviet campaign, with the playable character being Private Dimitri Petrenko. The Nazis first appear in "Vendetta", as the Germans have slaughtered Soviet soldiers in the Battle of Stalingrad. Petrenko feigned death and met with survivor Sergeant Viktor Reznov, who asked for his help to exact his revenge on the Nazis and Heinrich Amsel. The two Soviet soldiers later meet with Red Army soldiers, and manage to support them against the Nazi soldiers, and assassinate Amsel.

Years on, the Red Army participate in battling the Nazis, and Petrenko meets Private Chernov during the war. The Red Army push the Nazis into the heart of Berlin, as Reznov declares vengeance upon them. The 3rd Shock Army manage to capture the Reichstag, where Petrenko plants the Soviet flag onto the flag pole, finally seizing Berlin.

Black Ops[]

In '43, the Führer realized that the Allies could not be held back much longer. We began to look for more "unconventional" solutions. Throughout the war, my own research was focused on chemical weapons...it was meticulous and frustrating work. However, what we finally developed was a weapon more effective than we ever dared to imagine.
~ Friedrich Steiner.

Realizing that the Allies couldn't be held back much longer and could win the war, Nazi scientists led by Dr. Friedrich Steiner developed Nova 6. The Nova gas was a bio-chemical weapon and nerve toxin intended to kill soldiers within a minute, and cause the bodies to rot. The nerve toxin was to be used as a last resort against the Allies, but before it was tested, the Soviet Union and Western Allies invaded Germany. The Soviet Union and Polish troops managed to capture Berlin, and with the suicides of Hitler and other officials, the Third Reich collapsed.

By the end of the War, Steiner was sent to launch Nova 6 loaded rockets towards the United States, but his cargo ship was crippled by British bomber plans and trapped in the Artic ice. Wanting to ensure his survival, Steiner contacted the Red Army to exchange data and the gas for his life. Soviet General Nikita Dragovich and Colonel Lev Kravchenko came into contact with Steiner, and decided to sent a special ops unit to capture the Nazi scientist and collect the nerve toxin. The Russian unit was commanded by Captain Viktor Reznov, who battled the Germany military to reach Steiner, whom saw his German soldiers as expendable.

Upon getting to the cargo ship, Dragovich and Kravchenko betrayed Reznov and his men, leaving them to there fate of dying of the gas, wanting to see what Nova 6 could do. Reznov and several Russian officers were able to escape when British Commandos attacked, but the former was captured by Russia and taken to Vorkuta. Steiner was safely taken to Russia, and continued developing Nova 6 in an attempt to destroy the west with it.

Black Ops III[]

This is Bastogne... I studied it at the academy. I cited it in my final paper as one of greatest examples of courage and bravery in military history. One of those battles that show you what you're really made of, who you really are. I used to dream about it.
~ Sarah Hall to the Player in "Demon Within".

The Germany Military appear as an enemy faction in the mission "Demon Within", as the Player interfaces with Sarah Hall. Upon interfacing, the Player goes into Hall's mind, where she re-imagines the siege of Bastogne that she referenced in her final paper at the academy she attended. The Player works with the simulated United States Army soldiers, and battle the Germany military and the King Tiger Tank. Near the end of the mission, German military zombies attack the player until Hall begs them to kill her. Though they appear in the campaign, the German military appear in the simulation only, as the events leading to the capture of Hall were created by Corvus.

The Nazi Party SS and the Wehrmacht appear as the main antagonists of Call of Duty: WWII, appearing in every campaign missions. The main protagonist and playable character, Ronald "Red" Daniels, battle the Nazis from Normandy to the Rhine. In the mission "Liberation", French resistance leader Camille "Rousseau" Denis succeeds in killing Brigadier General Carl Heinrich, who murdered her family. Rousseau is assisted by the 1st Infantry Division and the S.O.E., and they liberate Paris from the Nazis.

Towards the end of the campaign, Daniels' best friend and squad mate, Robert Zussman, is captured by the Nazis and taken to a labor camp ran by Commadant Metz. Upon learning that the Nazis surrendered at the Rhine, Metz and his fellow officers attempt to cover up what they did at the Jewish labor camps. Daniels and his squad manage to find the labor camp Zussman was taken to, and Metz is killed before he could execute Zussman.

Vanguard[]

Hitler has paid for his weakness. And now history will remember him as we do. A failure! And a coward. The Red Army is nearly upon us. And Berlin is burning. But from the ashes shall rise our vision for something greater. To the Fourth Reich!
~ Freisinger's speech to the elitist as he becomes the new Führer.

The Nazi Party SS and the Wehrmacht appear as the main antagonists of Call of Duty: Vanguard, appearing in all missions except for "The Battle of Midway" and "Numa Numa Trail" (as the Imperial Japanese Navy appear as the hostile faction). Task Force Vanguard head to Hamburg, Germany to find documents on a secret Nazi project called "Phoenix", but the team are captured by General Hermann Freisinger and taken to the Gestapo headquarters. "Project Phoenix" was secretly a coup formed by Freisinger to become the new Führer by usurping Adolf Hitler, and he succeeded once Hitler committed suicide upon the fall of Berlin. Before he form his Fourth Reich by escaping from Hamburg, Freisinger was executed by Vanguard, rejecting him the ability to live in luxury once he cooperated with the Allied Powers. The task force would discover more documents about the Nazis attempts to do covert operations across the globe, and continued their mission to stop the Nazis completely.

Straub discovered a new form of energy that was dubbed "Geistkraft", the energy preserves the undead and is what drive them. In addition, Staub also discovered that when triggering the pain receptors of the corpses, he could augment the zombies' strength and speed. Straub would order his zombie army to battle Maria Fischer, and later the Bureau of Archaic Technologies, in an attempt to stop him.
