Neferkitty, also referred to as Fuzzbutton, is the main antagonist from The Garfield Show episode titled Curse of the Cat People.
Neferkitty is a former High Priestess of an ancient cat dynasty, she was determined to regain the power her kind once held over humans. After humanity rebelled and sealed her away in a magical portal, she waited for her chance to return.
In the present day, after an accident involving Odie and a mysterious mirror brought back from Egypt, Neferkitty escaped the portal. Liz Wilson had purchased the mirror as a gift for Jon Arbuckle, unaware of its true nature. When Garfield and Odie enter the portal, they are mistakenly treated as Egyptian rulers. Eventually, Neferkitty follows them back, only to be taken in by Liz’s niece, Heather Wilson, who renames her “Fuzzbutton,” much to Neferkitty’s displeasure.
Later, Neferkitty attempts to use her powers again when Jon repairs the mirror, gathering followers and wielding a magic staff that can turn people into stone. However, Garfield and Odie thwart her plans, and she is returned to Heather.
Appearance[]
Neferkitty resembles Arlene but with a distinct Egyptian flair. She has sleek blue fur, accented by purple eyeshadow and lips, with sharp golden claws. Her ensemble is adorned with Egyptian-themed jewelry, including purple bracelets and a white collar set with a green gem. Without her adornments, she resembles an ordinary cat, though her staff, topped with a glowing orb of mysterious power, is what gives her real influence.
Personality[]
Neferkitty is a ruthless and egotistical character, obsessed with regaining control over humans and believing in her superiority as a sorceress. Her disdain for humans, particularly Heather Wilson, knows no bounds. She has an intense hatred for Garfield and Odie, especially when they interfere with her plans. Neferkitty is prone to hold grudges and becomes enraged when referred to by her nickname, "Fuzzbutton".
