Nekojara is the main antagonist of the science fiction disaster animated film Doraemon: Nobita in the Wan-Nyan Spacetime Odyssey. He is the wealthy millionaire and founder of Nekojaraland, who sought to conquer humanity for the sake of his vengeance.
He was voiced by Shigeru Izumiya.
History[]
Nekojara is the founder of Nekojaraland and the descendant of Zubu, a cat abandoned by his former owner and traveled to the past alongside other pets. After the pets evolved into a civilization, Zubu wrote the Book of Dark Arts about Doraemon so his descendants could use it for revenge against humanity for abandoning the cats. For years, Nekojara used the book to plot the revenge using a Noradium-powered time machine whilst waiting for the "robot cat from the future" to appear. To ensure this, he sent his relative Sharmee, to pose as an idol singer of Nekojaraland to spy on him. Meanwhile, Nekojara kidnaps parents to force them to work on his time machine, among them those of Hachi, Chiko, Duk and Bulltaro, forcing them to search for them.
When the main group come, Sharmee notices Doraemon and reports his appearance to Nekoraja, much to the latter's delight as he starts to put his plan into motion. He steals the Noradium meant for the government to power spacecrafts to evacuate citizens from an incoming cluster of asteroids. After successfully kidnapping Doraemon, Nekojara explains his plan and forces Doraemon to fix the powered time machine by the Evolution Ray, to which the latter refuses. Knowing this, Nekojara shows Sharmee being held hostage and threatens to kill her unless Doraemon agrees, so Doraemon complies. However, it turns out that it's all an act as Sharmee herself is in league with Nekojara all along due to both of them being descendants of Zubu, much to Doraemon's distraught. Nekojara then attempts to kill Doraemon now that the latter has outlived his usefulness, but Sharmee convinces him that Doraemon is still useful, so Nekojara spares him and has him locked in the basement of the time machine. When Nekojara reveals to Sharmee that he also plans to steal all Noradium from the government for his time machine, she is extremely horrified.
After Doraemon escapes the basement, he fights Nekojara with the Lightning Sword Denkomaru, only for it to be broken. Before Nekojara can finish off Doraemon however, Sharmee enters and tells him that the time machine is ready. However, when he orders her to pull the control stick, she can't bring herself to do it as it will end many people's lives, so he angrily pushes her away and attempts to do it himself, only for Doraemon to stop him. Nekojara attempts to attack Doraemon, but Sharmee blocks it and gets injured. This fuels Doraemon's rage as he uses the broken Denkomaru to attack Nekojara until the latter gives up. Doraemon then breaks the Ray of Evolution in order to destroy any hope of Nekojara to complete his plan. However, Nekojara later pilots a robot in an attempt to steal the Noradium back, only for Nobita and Hachi to foil him, and the Book of Dark Arts is burned, ending Nekojara's twisted plan and Zubu's legacy for good.
Nekojara and Nyago are last seen being reduced to janitors on the spaceship which Ichi's gang and Sharmee are on. It's implied that he has abandoned his revenge plan for good.
