Neon Tiger is a minor antagonist in Mega Man X3. He joined Doppler's Army after being infected with the Maveirick Virus. He was once a poacher hunter named Shining Tigerd who was stationed to help protect the wildlife left on the planet.
His weapon, the Ray Splasher, allows him to shoot energy beams. X can gain this upon defeating Neon Tiger, and Gravity Beetbood is weak to the Ray Splasher. Neon Tiger himself is vulnerable to the Spinning Blades.
Personality[]
Not much is known about Neon Tiger, but judging from his occupation and status before going Maverick, it can be assumed that Neon tiger cared for the wildlife and make an effort to protect them from harm.
Biography[]
Neon Tiger was once a poacher hunter named Shining Tigerd, made to protect the wildlife from poaching. He was then infected with the virus and turned Maverick. Shining later joined Doppler's Army after his infection. X was then dispatched to destroy him.
Neon Tiger returns in Mega Man Xtreme 2 as one of the eight guardians of Laguz Island after being revived by Berkana. He is fought in X's campaign before his definitive destruction.
In battle, Neon Tiger can attack by shooting beams from his tail, raise his claws in front of him to shield his body from any charged shots that X unleashes from his Buster, dive at X from the walls, or, after he drops below half HP, perform a rush attack. As mentioned before, he is weak to the Spinning Blades, and can be locked into a pattern.
Trivia[]
- In the Manga adaptation of Mega Man X3, Shining Tigerd reforms after his defeat, thus becoming one of six Mavericks to survive and reform.
- Although many fans believed his stage theme is a reference to "My Michelle" from Guns and Roses, it was later deconfirmed by the composer Kinuyo Yamashita.
