Nephew was the name given to an Ood that was possessed by House, and is a major antagonist of the Doctor Who story The Doctor's Wife.
At some point, "Nephew" fell though a time rift, and was brought to House, where his injuries were repaired by the others who lived there, "Auntie", and "Uncle". Nephew lived with them on House's body, and under his control, tending to Auntie's and Uncle's worries in the manner of an enslaved Ood. At some point they were joined by the woman known as Idris.
When House lured a Time Lord known as the Doctor to him, Nephew drained away Idris's soul to be replaced with the Doctor's TARDIS. After the Eleventh Doctor, Amy and Rory arrived, Nephew and the others presented an innocent front, with Nephew bringing the newly possessed Idris to a cage. The Doctor attempted to fix his translation sphere, but it didn't work very long and only picked up Time Lord hypercube transmissions, not the Ood's thoughts.
After House possessed the TARDIS, Nephew at one point snuck aboard. While House was playing with Amy and Rory, messing with Amy's perceptions to only see darkness, Nephew copied Rory's voice to lure her. Nephew persued Amy and Rory to the Ninth and Tenth Doctor's console room, where House ordered Nephew to kill them. However, when the Doctor and Idris materialised in Nephew's space inside via their "Junk TARDIS", he was atomised. After realising this, the Doctor briefly mourned he wasn't able to save him.
- According to The Doctor Who Companion: The Eleventh Doctor Vol. 3, the writer Neil Gaiman originally created a new alien for Nephew, but was asked to choose a previously established race when the budget didn't allow for the creation of a new monster.
- Nephew bears resemblance to the Ood from The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit, as Ood being taken over by a malevolent force. The main difference is that, unlike the red-eyed Beast possessed Oodkind, Nephew's eyes glow House's green.
- It is unknown whether Nephew aided House in killing other Time Lords lured to them.
- It is unclear whether Nephew's ability to drain minds is a natural power for Oodkind, or an bility granted to him by House.
