Nero is one of the main antagonists of Ryse: Son of Rome and based loosely on the Roman Emperor of the same name. He is not actively faced for the majority of the game, but his role as antagonist is establishd via a story told to him by Marius, a soldier who came to guard him after a barbarian attack on the Roman capital.

Nero's two sons also act as supporting antagonists, especially the psychopathic Commodus. It is also revealed that despite appearing as the main enemy of Rome, Nero is himself a pawn to the true antagonist of human civilization, Aquilo.

He is voiced by Sebastion Abineri.

History[]

Appearance[]

Abilities[]

A cowardly tyrant with little experience in combat, Nero was nevertheless the supreme leader of the Roman Empire and held unlimited power over every aspect of said empire, beyond even the authority of his sons Nero had absolute control over Rome and its people, which he often abused for his own gains rather than those of the empire itself.

Nero also had limited skills in cunning and treachery, such as planning the demise of potential enemies and hiding from open conflict via using the forces of Rome to defend himself from harm.

Trivia[]

  • While Nero was seen as a powerful ruler his own cowardice, corruption and uncaring attitude towards the empire would of caused its collapse, this was why Aquilo was determined to keep Nero in power - knowing that the tyrant would ultimately destroy Rome with his madness.
