New Dalek Empire

The New Dalek Empire are an empire of Daleks based from the Medusa Cascade and the main antagonists of Series 4 of Doctor Who.

They were created by Davros from his own DNA after he was saved by Dalek Caan to rebuild the Daleks. At Davros' direction, the New Dalek Empire sought to construct the Reality Bomb and use it to eradicate all non-Dalek life in the universe, finally achieving the Daleks' goal of becoming the supreme species.

History[]

Left as the only surviving member of the Cult of Skaro, and the only Dalek left in existence, Dalek Caan decided to save Davros, who had perished during the first year of the Time War, so he could use his genius to rebuild the Daleks. Caan was able to figure out a way to penetrate the Time Lock on the Time War and save Davros before his ship flew into the maw of the Nightmare Child, at the cost of being driven insane from gazing upon the whole of Dalek history.

Having escaped the Time War with Caan's help, Davros engineered a new batch of Daleks to continue the Daleks' crusade to become the supreme beings of the universe. Soon, the new race of Daleks Davros created grew into a full-fledged empire based from a colossal space station known as The Crucible that lay in the heart of the Medusa Cascade. At some point, Davros was usurped by the Supreme Dalek of his New Dalek Empire and relegated to the Vault. Despite this, Davros continued to work with his creations and frequently gave advice to the Supreme One.

Davros would formulate plans for a "Reality Bomb" and enlisted the Daleks of the New Dalek Empire to construct it. At the direction of Davros, the New Dalek Empire stole twenty seven planets specially selected planets from across time and space and brought them into the Medusa Cascade to serve as transmitters for the Z-Neutrino energy of the Reality Bomb, projecting it across the universe to eradicate all non-Dalek life. Among the planets the Daleks poached for their plan was Earth, something which drew the attention of the Doctor.

However, after making it inside the Medusa Cascade and on board the Crucible, the Doctor was captured by the Daleks and Donna was seemingly killed when the Daleks dropped the TARDIS into lava. Unbeknownst to the Daleks, the Doctor, or anyone else however, this was all part of a careful plan to bring about the destruction of the New Dalek Empire by Dalek Caan, who had come to realize the evil of the Daleks from gazing upon the whole of their history. As a result of Caan's manipulations, Donna was rescued when a Metacrisis clone of the Doctor was created from her touching his severed hand and teleported the TARDIS away before it could be destroyed. This also resulted in Donna being bestowed the wealth of Time Lord knowledge from the Doctor's mind, which she used to hack into the New Dalek Empire's nexus and stop the Reality Bomb. This also allowed the Metacrisis Doctor to make all the Daleks destruct themselves, putting an end to the New Dalek Empire.

Although the New Dalek Empire had been destroyed, a single ship of Daleks was able to escape with a progenitor device. After getting the progenitor to recognize them, the Daleks brought forth a new Dalek empire by using the progenitor to create the New Dalek Paradigm.
