Nia Jax NXT Debut

Nia Jax is a professional wrestler signed by WWE via their NXT Brand. She currently competes as a villainess at NXT's live events, previously doing so under her real name Lina.

Lina was signed by WWE in 2013, but she wouldn't make her in ring debut until May 4, 2015 at an NXT house show. She was originally given the ring name, Zada, but she has been competing under her real name since debuting this year. In her debut, Lina portrayed a villainess and teamed with Dana Brooke and Devin Taylor in a losing effort against Alexa Bliss, Bayley, and Carmella in a six-Diva tag team match. Three weeks later, Lina was defeated by Becky Lynch at another house show. Recently, Lina was given the ring name, Nia Jax, and she has also been teaming with Eva Marie in several matches. At NXT Takeover: Brooklyn, and for weeks after that, vignettes aired promoting Nia's NXT debut.

Nia made her long anticipated debut on the October 14, 2015 episode of NXT, competing against Evie. Nia turned heel when she laughed evilly at her opponent, while talking trash not only to Evie, but to the fans while dominating and later defeating her. After racking up victories against Deonna Purrazzo and Carmella, Nia formed an alliance with Eva Marie (referring to themselves as the Power Alliance), which included being in her corner in her NXT Women's Championship match against Bayley. After Eva was defeated, the evil Nia attacked Bayley and took possession of the title. Nia's title opportunity took place at NXT Takeover: London on December 16, but she was defeated via submission by Bayley.

Regarding her gimmick, Nia is portrayed as a dominant and powerful heel, with her look being somewhat similar to that of her cousin, current WWE Diva Tamina Snuka.
