Nick Monaco is the minor antagonist of The Mentalist TV-show. He is one of the inmates in the prison, a guard of which is found murdered. He was played by Robert Cicchini.
Biography[]
One day, the body of prison guard Walton Purcell is found. Teresa Lisbon's team is called to the scene of the murder. Since the body was found near a jewelry store, the team's consultant Patrick Jane suspects that someone in that store was stealing jewelry, and Walton caught him, for which he paid with his life. One of the agents working in Teresa's team, Wayne Rigsby, decides to interrogate everyone who was in that prison but was released. Among the former prisoners of that prison is Steve Rigsby, Wayne's father. Now Steve is engaged in cigarette smuggling and decides to use his son's work to get rid of competitors, much to the displeasure of Wayne himself. Patrick Jane, meanwhile, interrogates those who are still serving time in that very prison (simultaneously revealing the dirty secrets of that prison). Among them is Nick Monaco, who likes to be neat. His nails, according to Patrick, are too polished for a person who is in prison. Also, there is no nail service in prison (at least in the prison where Nick was serving his sentence and where the murdered man worked). So Nick somehow left the prison (his sentence is not due to end for another six months, and it is impossible to leave that prison without the staff knowing about it before the end of his sentence). Patrick learns that one of the drivers in that prison was bribed by Nick. Nick left prison to rob stores (one of which was the jewelry store where Walter's body was found). Walter caught Nick doing this, and Nick killed him.
