Nigel Albright is the main antagonist of the 6-part IDW issue Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees.
He’s a serial killer obsessed with Samantha and wishes to become partners with her.
Biography[]
Nigel Albright was the son of Lola Albright and raised in Woodbrook. When he became an adult, he went off to college but quickly became bored with it, believing that all the other students were fake. He eventually moved back to Woodbrook to take care of his mother but soon became interested in Sam. He began following her around, eventually discovering that she was a serial killer, and became fixated on both Sam and her profession. Nigel decided to try and get Sam’s attention by committing his own string of murders in town.
He first began with a senile, old man named Martin, whom he had crucified on a ship float during Woodbrook's 200th-year anniversary parade. His second victim was a woman named Cherry Gherkins, whom he stalked all the way into an elementary school and beheaded with an ax. Eventually, Samantha caught onto the real killer and decided to confront Nigel at his mother’s home. Nigel explained why he was committing these murders and wanted to offer Sam a chance to be her partner, which Sam refused. Angered by this, Nigel declares that Sam is just a fake like all the others and vows to get his revenge.
He does this by unbarring many of Sam’s dismembered victims and hiding them in her store. He then murdered Sam’s employee Charlie in her store, causing police to investigate and find the paint cans filled with human body parts. After Sam flees the town to escape the police, Nigel burns all the photos he took of his victims in a campfire. After which Nigel took photos of many other people who were soon to be victims.
Soon after, Nigel saw Sam’s car parked outside of her home and decided to investigate. He broke through the window with a gun, telling Sam that she should’ve stayed away, only to find his dead mother. Sam then comes at him from behind, injecting him with curare, paralyzing him. She tells Nigel how she plans to kill him so she can then frame him for the murders and clear her name. And after getting everything set up, she shoots Nigel in the head, killing him.
